Hello all.
Apologies for the absence but it's been a manic couple of days.
Lets start with the good news...cancer's not spread beyond the underarm area.
Less good news and subject of ongoing debate, I have to have surgery on Monday 23rd Dec. If they don't take it out now they might not be able to take it out as it's growing around all my blood vessels. It's very aggressive and doesn't appear on any previous scans or surgeries so it doubling in size every 10 to 14 days.
Chemo is up in the air. They may not be able to offer me any as they don't know what will work and I now appear chemo resistant to the common ones. This can happen but along with the multiple recurrences is rare. They're also going to rescan me for radiotherapy once it's cut out to see if they've already touched the area with radiation. If they haven't, that might be an option. Can't have an hormone treatment as it's triple negative again and won't respond.
So, and congratulations if you read this far, in summary not spread today but high probability that this isn't the end.
If I behave I may get out on Christmas Eve. SB is up for attempting a turkey dinner...you got to love that boy. He's going to drive to Edinburgh with my dinner on Christmas Day if I don't get out. As he's never so much as roasted a potato I'm highly impressed regardless of the outcome.
I hope things are going well for everyone else and your support is hugely appreciated.
