    Hi guys,

no big secret I'm a freelance PRoject Manager. Most of the money came from selling my dad's house, the one I'd already bought a huge share in from my brother.
Thanks honey! So that was capital incoming? I'm glad for you, you've got enough stresses in your life.
I never spend what I earn. I've been very very broke when I was married, then divorce cost me an arm and leg so now I squirrel away. Thank goodness as I earned nothing 17 out of 26 months in last couple of years :(
Until this downturn in my business, thats what I was like too ... two particularly busy periods, each lasting for about five years, it was all I could do to cook something in the evening ... its been a cushion thats saved my bacon nowadays, though, for sure.

Anything else you like to know just ask...the £13k will be a dividend from the company. I only take enough salary to satisfy NI thresholds so money builds up there and there's always a reserve for tax and vat. Again I'm very nervous about ever being caught short.
Makes you think, doesn't it. I'm debt free now, apart from the repayment mortgage on my French apartment (about E40k), and that'll be it. Next aim is the pension! :j

Hi Moo, w've two tickets for Vue at 7:30pm. Their site has seemingly been crashing so they were adding a cinema every 5 minutes, they had 90 to get through according to SB.

Ticket were £14 each but it's a one off and will make him a very happy SB so worth every penny.

Hi KC, definitely a learning lesson to everyone who's self-employed, you need to put away for the lean times. I'm not even going to attempt to pay off any capital on BTLs as ex-OH would then claim half of every £1 I invested. Need to lie down in a darkened room everytime I think about that situation.

Good reminder that Q2 VAT return is due by end of month...better knuckle down and do it now.

I can't make up my mind about pension monies...it's a complete roll of dice either way.

    Please forgive a lurker's tuppenceworth:

I hope you are billing all your time spent on BTLs which will be paid first before splitting profits between you and ex-OH.

Appreciate your tuppenceworth but I can't as they're deemed investment properties and I can only claim professional fees such as Accountant. I had asked about this (before we split) as an expense against the properties but because they're not set up under a business but in our names then you can't claim your own time.

I have started to move them over to a management company as each tenancy ends and someone new moves in as I wasn't fit enough to handle these and do chemo. They take a whopping 15% which is deductible...crazy system but even having 5 of the 13 out of my hair most of the time helps.

I'm over a very bitter barrel. I cannot afford to ever let my credit be less than perfect so I'm obliged to keep topping up the accounts but should they ever go black he'll get half. Wouldn't bother him in the least to be declared bankrupt as he never intends to work again.:mad::mad:
