Tenant is now ramping up her attempts to intimidate me. She claims to have retained a lawyer. Interesting quote from her text..."Solicitor says you can't touch the deposit and you have to take me to court for the rent arrears." First time she's actually admitted there are rent arrears.

I've pointed out that I can offset the deposit against rent arrears. I can also show exactly what sums of money were received and when, she has been asked repeatedly to evidence any additional sums I may missed to ensure it's a true representation. All she does is scream about the deposit and demand I increase the rent arrears by £200 and transfer the money to the deposit.

If I'm being really dumb about this, will someone tell me please.

Elsie...be kind to yourself. At least they're letting you escape. Hope the journey's not to long back and forth to the hospital.

Did check-out for evil tenant. We were to meet at 9:30am and my friend, the 6'8" accountant, was going to come along to explain why she couldn't get her deposit in Ladybird words and pictures, was all lined up to come along.

At 5pm on Friday she texted to say that wasn't convenient and to come after 2pm. I explained I had cancer and couldn't drive so I'd have to find someone to bring me. Cancelled friend as I wasn't ruining his Saturday and SB took me up to meet her. She was there with 5 adult family members to berate me about the deposit, call me a thief and then collectively huff out of the house when I told them I intended to apply for the deposit and as she had rent arrears greater than amount held, nothing would be returned. They were free to dispute and take me to arbitration. I even gave them all the deposit scheme info again because unsurprising she's lost hers.

Eventually very mouthy big sister did admit that their were rent arrears because "the council didn't pay little sis and it's therefore up to you to sue the council not little sis".

Best laugh was when big sis looked at me (bald head covered by cap, admitted Breast Cancer patient and hooked up to a syringe driver) and said "little sis doesn't keep too well some days"!! Ha Bl00dy Ha...sorry. May be being a biatch here but really.

At chemo today. In at 9 and out at 5. We've all agreed chemo isn't working but we did today for luck. Tumour even bigger, about the size of a saucer split in half. They got me in to see the surgeon and he's going to operate in about a month, I've to go and see him next week to hammer out the details. Big area to be cut away but he's going to try and do immediate reconstruction from my back muscles.

Good thing is it'll all be over by my birthday and the summer holidays so I'll have some downtime before I start job hunting.

    I've been Money Tipped!
Ow! Back muscles! So you'll be sore front & back. That's what my surgeon was going to do until she decided I had big enough boobies to do the skin saver. My chemo's been rescheduled for Wednesday: more needles groan!

At least you've got rid of one cra ppy tenant now.

And no more chemo is always a bonus :). Hope the surgery goes well and they get you in quick.
