i wonder if it has anything to do with the fall in profits.
TE used to come on here and boast profits were up by so many % but have just read the financial section and see that tescos isnt performing as well as its expected and the market share is getting smaller and competition is growing0 -

whilst the last trading quarter was once again strong...Supermarket giant Tesco has reported strong sales growth over the Christmas and New Year period. Like-for-like sales, which exclude the impact of new store openings, jumped 5.7% in the seven weeks to 7 January.
Sales are still on track to certainly meet and probably exceed city expectations.
I would be interested to know which financial section you are reading ginjim - if its the wall street journal or the FT then i bow down to your superiour sources!!!:p
What is interesting is that Tesco market share is almost twice that of Asda, the nearest competitor....probably something that the competition commission will be investigating!

ie a jar of coffe is reduce from 5.99 to 3.49 and the sel expires on 1/1/99. If i was in the store at 1 minute to midnight on the 1/1/99 and scanned this item at 1 minute past midnight, would it scan at the full price?
Therefore creating a misprice?Constantine wrote:No. That wont work. If it was like that, Midnight would be the busiest time in every store
Sorry to correct you Constantine but that was always the way it worked in my store. I worked the night shift on C.S.D. and the offers always expired midnight Tuesday. The idea is that each department will remove any ending offer sel's during the Tuesday. If we had time we would do a quick flick round the store b4 midnight to make sure they had all gone. But it would revert to normal pricing at midnight or shortly after. And yes - full refund on mis price.0 -

Not noticed this today in the 4 stores I visited. In fact, they are showing the policy information in more places than before.
All checkouts, electrical, books, clothing, even on revolving doors at the entrance I have seen these today!
Hope that is not the case though...................................
I get the usual banter from CS that ' the policy is changing very soon.. ' but that has been going on for the last 3 months!
This week I have even been told by CS that there is a scam going around where people are printing off their own labels to claim r&r !!
Wait and see off to mr T monday morningTB0
