The above gives an unbiased view into the events at heysel.

I am not going to get into the "who was to blame" issue, but just to make a point that wikipedia is not unbiased (is that a double negative) but a collection of thoughts written collaboratively by volunteers from all around the world.

Anyway enough of this debate, back to the real point of this thread HOW DO I GET A FREE XBOX!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Also - chuck in a few crisps!

When I got the Moet last year I added a few backs of peanuts and pringles - helps to make you look like you're shopping for a party!

I finally found a copy of ghost recon but they had removed all the bafta chart versions and put an out of stock/ more comming soon box so I didnt want to go for it the non bafta version was in the non chart stuff.

I did notice a fanatastic price for ridge racer 6 for the 360 in the same store for £25 considering this was £45 since release the price had really dropped.

The BAFTA one clearly has "BAFTA" written on the front. They have different barcodes, so your argument is stronger if they only display the £27.97 SEL and have non BAFTA games on show - and would further be aided if *someone* had moved all the BAFTA games behind other games so they are not on show when CSA has a look....

You should be prepared to have a "It's a different product, Sir" conversation if the CSA is on the ball. If so, point out that the description on the SEL exactly matches the game, it was the only SEL on display, the game was in that slot, etc, etc...worked for me......

Thats how it worked for me, the SEL said £27.97, there were 3 copies of the game on the shelf, 2 normal and 1 BAFTA edition. I moved the BAFTA to another shelf and took a normal copy which duly scanned at £29.97.
Easy R+R, no awkward questions asked at CS.
  • £25 is not such a great price

They have it for £14.99 there delivered.

I did exactly that yesterday but to no avail, even asked 2 other Tesco employees if they who presume that the SEL was for that Game, which they did. If it wasn't stickered I would hve gone for it, but couldn't use the "can you show me where it states the correct price"

What I meant was what SPA said. but I think 'You'll be lucky' summarised it concisely. I was saving words.

I must be lucky then,; went back to the store, different manager, explained with a friendly smile that I prefered the Co-op but Tesco really did seem to be streets ahead here and voila! R and R for a couple of bottles of wine. Maybe not worth the effort but good for building those people skills.

The first statement is an outright lie....it doesnt matter if the goods are free or not, prosecution will only result from persistent and deliberate overcharging and pretty soon apparently the second statement will not be true either....

What first statement? It was a TIC suggestion, hence the smilie for dimbos. I always try and be nice to other MSERs, but you're clearly someone with a problem. Have you forgotten to take your treatment?

This isn't as far-fetched as it seems. This is quite a valid policy (nasty, but valid).

The issue is more that these smaller stores are all glossed with the same Tesco brush of Low Prices yet it is within these stores that it's the least applicable.

If we (ahem, the great Brittish public) let them, Tesco will eventually close most corner shops. We need an uprising!

It's capitalism, that's what we voted for. The only thing I would eat from my local supermarket many years was apple pies and I made sure the packages were sealed against the flies that used to walk across owners dog and then over the meat counter. Wonderful. Third World in the Home Counties and not that long ago.

There are still some independent small supermarkets in smaller towns, I make the effort to support them when visiting and I'll use them out of choice even if it means paying slightly more. But the quality has to be better than Tesco (so that bit is easy).
