Im fed up of being constantly overcharged by Tesco's and at times made to feel like a criminal for pointing it out to CS staff. I have helped to swell Tesco's coffers substantially over many years and do not appreciate being overcharged on a regular basis. It has become an increasingly regular occurance over the last couple of years. Their R&R price promise, introduced as a measure of goodwill to customers, and supposedly introduced as theri were so confident in the fact that it was very "unlikely" that Tesco customers would be overcharged has certainly been a swwetener throughout the period. However, if the overcharging continues, I shall have no qualms about being constantly on the back of trading standards etc. as, to be quite frank, I do not want to spend my time in queues at the CS desk for the sake of a few pence but equally, nor do I wish to add to Mr. Ts millions by money being taken off me beyond the value of teh good I have bought.

Sorry about the rant!! Hope it makes sense to someone our there!
Mr. T - Stop overcharging your customers.

Even with a double the overcharge refund though, it still shows goodwill from T's in trying to apologise for the mis-pricing.

You can't really believe that surely......Its a bribe to stop you calling TS or taking it further, only not as good a bribe as RandR.

How come people are still RandRing stuff that was reported a month ago, if its not deliberate, its a lack of caring, that others are getting overcharged on the same product.

Lol, I don't believe it at all but I know that's what they think we think:mad: , otherwise they would just have said 'no more R&R and that's it'.

TBH though, I've started doing bits and pieces of shopping in T's while I've been looking for Mis-Prices but it's a 20 min walk out of my way on the way home, so for double the difference, they can keep it!

While I agree with your Double standards and having your cake and eating it phrases, I wonder why is it then, that no one ever comes up with a store refusing to refund or exchange "sealed" items...

Actually, Leadhead, I had a problem taking back a sealed DVD to a store a couple of hours after purchasing it. It took me an hour and a call to a senior manager to get my money back, as the CSD would not budge. As far as the CSD was concerned, Tesco does not accept returns on CDs and DVDs sealed or otherwise. It didn't matter to them that the item was sealed and had only been purchased a couple of hours earlier in the same store. In the end, I got my money back.

  • Even if Mr T does terminate R&R as we know it and replace it with Double the Overcharge, they will still get caught out

    1) are we really expecting to see CS staff get out the calculators and work out the difference on mis-priced items sold by weight? It will add to queues at CS, that's for sure

    2) What about when a Bog-Off deal don't go through? If I don't miss my guess, you'd get 100% back and keep the goods

    3) Sometimes the differences are so great, they'll have to pay you to take it away.

I can't see this being the "end", just the start of new challenges and longer queues at CS desks with the result being even more pi$$3d off customers left waiting.

    :D
  • In my experience, Trading Standards couldn't give a toss about relatively small misdemeanors by this conglomerate (or indeed other operators).

Mr T's utter incompetence at getting its pricing right is downright criminal in some cases. Its reaction is to remove the policy rather than tighten up on procedures. That stinks.

Our reaction to the reaction should be to bring the whole affair to the attention of the press - that's the kind of publicity that Mr T could do without.

Just imagine the shame of headlines relating to soaring profits from overcharging its once trusting customers.

  • Okay, I got another general enquiry for you R&R peeps!

Have any of you ever taken back the item you were overcharged, and CS have offered you a refund of the difference, instead of the full cash back? Do you think they do this to people who are unsuspecting of the policy to see if they can get away with it, and if so, do you have to start quoting sections of their own policy to get anything sorted?
