Having worked in retail i understand a bit here but need clarification.
If somethign is marked up wrong you get it for free?
I always complain but usually at till and just get the difference back. Should i be going to cs and getting full refund and keep the stuff? Are people making serious money doing this or just as treats now and again?
I did think there was a refusal to serve rule, if someone tried these things in my shop id just refuse to serve them which i believe i would be in my rights do do so but these big firms don't want the hassle it seems.
I have read quite a lot of the threads but if someone could pm me a complete lowdown that would be great.
many thanks,

Yeh done that.
So they have to give you it all back! If you don't ask this will they just try and give you the difference?
Do people do this for a living!! What about if a product is not on the right shelf for example? or wine is put out under wrong price? Ie two bottles of chardonnay one is saint veran and the other vielles vignes. Saint veran is £6.99 and v/v is £11.99 but it is out under the other label?
sorry for all questons0 -

Doubt it, more a pastime.
No chance of R&R is product is in the wrong place.
CS know the policy yet (most of the time) chance their arm with a refund of the difference. Just ask for clarification of what the last sentence on the blue board with white writing means.
Oh, I forgot, R&R finished yesterday, according to a poster who was told this by a CS staff member.0 -
I was in a Tesco this morning and I overheard the entertainment woman taking to another Tesco worker and she said that some stuff was going down to silly prices from 4pm today and they 16 hour window to reduce it.
Can any of the Tesco employees on here clarify what is being reduced. She was looking at DVDs at the time, but I don't know if thats whats being reduced!0 -
Are R'n'R price errors shop specific, does anyone know? If it takes a couple of days for the computer to update the system (msg 601 above) and the shampoo offer expires today anyway, is it worth trying for a few more *casual innocent whistling*
Edit: oops... sorry.... i cant keep up with how many tesco threads there are*scuttles off*

Yes.
And No.
If, say a CD of the Week is scanning at a price higher than the SEL or Poster Price then the error is Nationwide.
But, an OOD or inaccurate SEL will be store-specific.
Sometimes for the first example Stalagluft Dundee will correct a price centrally quite quickly - sometimes not - that's why Dudes are still getting the Gordon Ramsay book.

PS This should be on the discussion thread - I suspect the Mods will move this post.0 -

It is not changing yet.ma6jrp wrote:I was in a Tesco this morning and I overheard the entertainment woman taking to another Tesco worker and she said that some stuff was going down to silly prices from 4pm today and they 16 hour window to reduce it.

Not DVD's, afaik. Although there may be some nice prices there in the near future when the supply system changes in a few weeks time.
Biggest reductions atm are on health and beauty (massive range change), toys (range changing from winter to summer) and possibly also on cook shop (other big range change).
There should also be a Clear As You Go listing due this week, which could have been what you overheard being discussed - end of line products that need to be found, recorded and destroyed within a time limit like you describe.Who or what was I before you came in to my life
I am not sure0 -
