Not really, there are several long running tesco threads though, your best bet may be in the tesco vouchers and codes discussion thread here http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showpost.html?p=4042599&postcount=1Fight Poverty - Hit a tramp!

Everything You Wanted to Know About Scanning But Were Afraid To Ask....
What Is the Scanner? It's a handy price checking device - you scan the barcode of a product and it shows you the price the product will scan at.
Where Is the Scanner? This link will give a list of scanner locations for many stores.
Still Can't Find the Scanner Dude? Most Tesco stores have at least one scanner - Extra stores often have two - popular locations include clothing, pharmacy and pet food aisles.
Remember that the scanners require power (duh!) so check the walls and pillars as this is the easiest way for an engineer to run a power cable to the beastie.
If you can't find it quick - ask a member of staff - to avoid asking any CS staff on walkabout try one of the staff doing a tesco.com shop or a shelf stacker.
What Can I Scan? Everything Dude! A can of baked beans - even a Dyson - just find the barcode on the item and lug it over to the scanner!
Won't I look suspicious? Probably not unless you have been fingered by CS staff or Security as a regular R&Rer when you enter the store - it's easy to feel paranoid when you are price checking - but to be honest staff are busy doing their jobs!
The only problem could be if you scan something under the nose of a CS member of staff - just 'check your six' before you scan and don't look too guilty. Don't worry about CCTV - these are looking for shoplifters not R&Rers!
Scanner is Broken? The collective wisdom of this forum is that there is no Tesco conspiracy to break scanners - they will eventually get repaired - it's just not a top priority for Tesco stores - feel free to report a broken scanner to CS staff or Head Office.
Scanner Says No? I think you mean scanner Says 'Contact a member of staff' - this is not unusual - scan the item a number of times in quick succession and you will usually get a price.
Can a scanner show me a multi save discount? No Dude, just the individual product price. Any multi save overcharges need to be checked on a real till. The Dude finds he sometimes leaves his wallet at home on these occasions...
I got the Power! – If the scanner is switched off at the mains – try to quietly switch it back on – as well as getting a thrill from breaching Health & Safety legislation you might just find that it’s in good working order!

Hey Dude! haha.. thanks alot for that it was really helpful..
The only problem I have is that the two scanners in my store havent worked for wayyyyyyyyy over a year.. more like two now. One is in the card/stationary aisle.. (on a wall) and covered by a BOGOF Disney/James Bond etc dvd stand..
The other one (by the stuffing/gravy if you care.. haha) Was removed from the wall about 4mths ago. . GRRRRR It does pee me off not having a scanner.. Ooo and my store isnt listed on that site.. hmmm.Very proud of trying to deal with my debts. LBM 04/09

Complain about it, each and every time you go in. It may get someone to act on the complaints?
What have you got to loose?0 -
Hi all,
Having worked in retail i understand a bit here but need clarification.
If somethign is marked up wrong you get it for free?
I always complain but usually at till and just get the difference back. Should i be going to cs and getting full refund and keep the stuff? Are people making serious money doing this or just as treats now and again?
I did think there was a refusal to serve rule, if someone tried these things in my shop id just refuse to serve them which i believe i would be in my rights do do so but these big firms don't want the hassle it seems.
I have read quite a lot of the threads but if someone could pm me a complete lowdown that would be great.
many thanks,0
