    2 R&Rs today

    1st no problems at all

2 * Nintendo DS Games £19.94 sickers £19.97 Ring up (Put thru as 2 transactions to avoid the 2 for £30)

CS Manager very nice, but did send the Checkout supervisor over to the till operator to give her a talking to for not picking up on it

2nd Hmm!! (At a seperate store)

Found some Finest Lamb Leg Joints SEL £6.49 kg. 6 units on disply, 3 correctly priced and 3 at £6.98 kg

    took the 3 incorrect,

At CS the dragon on duty first accused me of removing the yellow price mark stickers!.

Called the Duty manager who said as they were priced correctly on the package the R&R did not apply!.

Stood my ground and she called the store manager who offered to reduce them to £6.49 Kg.

Stood my ground again with mubblings of Trading Standards with the photocopied T&CS in hand that they had displayed on the counter.

In the end they relented and R&Rd but then advised that as they had the right to not sell to anyone who they felt were abusing the terms that I was not welcome there again, recorded my name / address / Clubcard & Credit Card numbers and sent me packing!

So a really nasty experience after the nice guy at store one..

Where did u get the photocopied/copy of T&CS from
    Wins =2008
Astral cream and a selection of seeds from Suttons

Amy Whinehouse new album 7.97 on poster, scans at 9.77.

They wouldn't honour it for me as the shelf label said 9.77 even though the poster didn't. I hope someone else is more lucky.

That's illegal. If they are displaying a poster with a lower price, this is the price you should be charged.

    Threaten them with TS

The Big Blue sign on the wall behind CS had been taken down, but in its place was an A4 Version copied onto a sheet of white paper in a perspex photo holder on the CS Desk

So when they said that as the price was clearly marked on the pack at £6.99kg so the SEL of £6.49kg was invalid, I waved the Perspex holder at them that clearly states that if the price on the SEL OR PACKAGE does not match the price charged it qualifies for R&R

Not sure if the removal of the big blue sign behind the CS desk is any sort of impending doom for R&R, I have seen it removed now at 2 of the 6 stores I visit.

That's not illegal at all... Outside of Tesco's R&R pledge, a store does not have to honour a miss priced item at the miss priced price...
    April Grocery Challenge £81/£120

Looks like the sale was already honoured - just not at the expected price.

Trading Standards would not give a hoot about Tesco's R&R policy, however they would be interested in a store charging a higher price than the customer believed - if this was down to advertising a price not available to the customer - very misleading if not fraudulent.

This belongs on the mis-price discussion thread.

But you're wrong - read Welsh Ben's posts on here - educate yourself ;)

But is this ethical? That's up to the inidivdual - put your posts on the ethics thread.

As for posters - a poster is a 'Point of Sale'.

    To use Tesco's own words:

"Overcharging is defined as charging the customer more than is indicated on the Shelf Edge Label, Point of Sale or on the product itself. "

So there you go - clear mis-price.

    Here endeth the lesson,

    Hi.

Read post number 2 - the re-read your post.

    Two valuable lessons.

    1. You were greedy - 3 joints of the same meat - you may argue but from a 'reasonable' point of view this is not the pattern of an average joe going shopping.

By being greedy you have popped up in the CS radar as a R&Rer and not a wronged shopper!

2.Attitude - was it really worth losing it over some free meat? What about the mobile/laptop/console that's mis-priced at that store next week?

Think about it - low profile = more R&Rs = a happier you!

By all means argue for the biggies - but know when to walk away....

Sorry if this is the wrong thread - slightly related to the legal discussions but not R&R.

What is the legal situation if Tesco promises 1000 clubcard points in return for something, but fails to credit those clubcard points even after 3 months of phone calls / emails and when they have a clear cut obligation to do so?

I'm about to escalate something and would like to know about the legalities - where points, rather than goods or sterling are involved, is it still a criminal offence and what law / act has been infringed?

Thanks for any help or redirection!

Last night got Sony PSP game World Rally Championship stickered at 19.94 scanned at 19.97.

Took this back to customer services and pointed out the overcharge, she messed on with the till scanning the game a couple of times and then gave me 3p and my receipt back!!

I said i was under the impression their policy was to refund the whole amount and i keep the product if i was overcharged - the SA said if i took it upstairs to the department this would be the case!!!

I then told her thats what i would do and i put the 3p and receipt on the counter - another lady working on customer services told the SA to go up herslef and inform the department of the mistake to which she tutted and trotted off!!!

after 10 minutes or so she returned and said i was allowed my money back, so she scanned the game and asked me for 3p so she could give me £20
"oh there it is" she said and used the 3p she had just given me out of the till.

So tesco have just paid me 3p to take a lovely new game (that we wanted anyway) off their hands - CHEERS!!!!
