I'm a tad confused, I wonder if anyone can help.

On my last visit I saw a fresh beef 4 rib pack. I don't recall the exact price, but the pack said £3.50/kg and the shelf label said £3.40/kg. Would this qualify, or would it have to be the other way round with the shelf saying the more expensive price? Also, with the label on the product being specific and having the barcode, will it scan for that individual item disregarding the SEL?

I think i've confused myself more now. I need a lie down.

OK - it's confusing at first - because in your mind you're not used to shopping this way - your mind has been trained to look for good prices - not prices that are a little bit too expensive and ultimately wrong!

The Promise goes - 'if you are charged more than the price shown on the product or the shelf'.

In Tesco 'shelf' = Shelf Edge Label or Point Of Sale.

So your example qualified - the SEL indicated the item was £3.40 kg - but on the product you actually paid more £3.50 per kg.....

It's easy to get distracted by the actual price you pay - say £6.75 - if the meat label has this as the actual price it will (mostly) scan at this price - it is the price per kg that you focus on.

CS staff will usually understand that it's a mis-price - although some require a step-by-step explanation why you have been overcharged.....

    Clear as mud?

Hey all, Just a quick question.

As today is teh day when tesco stop alot of the electrical goods sale there may be a few r&r oppertuinities :)

If for instance they have left one of the yellow stickers on the shelf edge which states the end of the promotion does this count?

I know the usually do take these away but just a thought i had.

    Cheers

    Gav

    Indeed it is.

Some CS staff will aruge that an Out Of Date SEL = no mis-price.

They are of course wrong - stand your ground and be polite - it normally works!

How did you know they had not credited the points? Is there a website that shows you clubcard transactions individually or do you just keep all your reciepts and add them up?

The reason I ask is that if Tescos are screwing us with the prices how do we know they are not doing the same with clubcard points?

    Regards

    Speedy

Can't answer the first bit, but no, theres no website where you can check your transcations individually.

You can check your total on line however.

I have on occassion queried my points, and have received a very crude printout of the transaction being added.

I have also had quite a few points deducted, they dont tell you why either.

I keep a rough idea in my mind from receipt to receipt of how many points I should have, but the odd 100 here, 100 there could easily be missing.

Only gives you the total, as leadhead says, but for 1000 points mistakes are easily spotted.

Getting the liars and cheats who call themselves customer service "managers" to do anything about it is another matter though.

Cunning ploy on Tesco's part, calling them all managers. It makes it much harder to get them to refer you upwards, they're all so full of their own new important tinpot roles.

I know of at least one promotion (TescoInternetPhone) where lots and lots of people have not yet received their 1000 points, due in October 06. Whether Teso are addressing this on the basis of only crediting people who complain, or actually being proactive, I don't know.

What I do know is that no one I have spoken to cares that they are depriving people of what has been promised on a mass scale.

    I've lost the plot somewhere....

Think it's wrong to tar the whole lot of Tesco Dudes with the same brush - most are reasonable, a handful are exceptionally good or bad IMHO.
