Tesco misprice discussion area part 17

rombomb wrote:Sorry, but if you read the telegraph article Martin does state that if Tesco had no misprices R&R would be neither here nor there.
I'll quote and provide the link ...
"Until the policy changes, lists of wrongly priced goods will continue to appear on moneysavingexpert.com — a website set up by the money adviser Martin Lewis.
"R&Ring is taking advantage of a Tesco policy and not a loophole in the law," he said. "Tesco is not forced to have that policy — it does this as a way to promote itself.
"If people are doing absolutely nothing illegal but doing a little research to take advantage of the policy then I haven't got a problem with it.
"If thousands of pounds worth of Xboxes walked out the door then it should teach Tesco to be a bit more careful about prices so that customers are not misled."
"

Also, all you TESCO EMPLOYEE types (bluey, cheapy, chicky, TE1, TE2 ... etc) please remember that MARTIN states that R&Ring is NOT ILLEGAL, so please refrain from mentioning the activity as such.
Fine, if Martin wants to try and defend what has led to Tesco withdrawing their R&R benefit, then let him do so. It's his site, and thus his reputation that hangs on such things.
However, as you quote Martin : "R&Ring is taking advantage of a Tesco policy and not a loophole in the law," he said. "Tesco is not forced to have that policy — it does this as a way to promote itself"
Now the policy has been withdrawn; primarily as the result of the activities of some people who frequent these forums.
As a result, whose promotion, and integrity, has been scuppered - MSE or Tesco?
Could Martin's reputation be tarnished by being seen to promote such activities?
Maybe he should clarify his views in the light of this particular thread. His response would be illuminating:cool:0 -

Why would his integrity be undermined by such a response? take another look to your left the sites fundemental purpose is one of consumer revenge, that very philosophy would require him to support any LEGAL action which seeks to and successfully metes out revenge to the most abusive and devisive of those which quite clearly deserve it.Four guns yet only one trigger prepare for a volley.Together we can make a difference.0 -
It's EUFA night even Tesco doesn't have that big a pull YET.FloFlo wrote:It's gone quiet, I wonder where eveyone's gone.;)
By the way for those that have not yet noticed, McDougals flour is on bogof at the moment 74p with a 50p coupon on each bag work out the math before Tesco do, on second thoughts Tesco don't do math do they, thats 26p profit on two bags folks, save the flour and give it to the kids on Halloween it's much easier to clean up than eggs.Four guns yet only one trigger prepare for a volley.Together we can make a difference.0 -

I think he has clarified his views. Its not illegal, so fill your boots, its Tesco that invite the refunds by both their policy and their continual mispricing. Whether that applies to R&R or DTD, it matters not a jot.0 -
