Using my awesome powers of at least average intelligence, I predict a thread closure in the near future. What's the solution? Simply don't post. Easiest thing in the world.Who or what was I before you came in to my life
I am not sure0 -

Yep so how many insurance companies have ever advertised in this manner?
Whatever way you look at it Tesco made a large blunder with that advert - they made a rod for their own back, and as more and more people decided to hit them with it they decided they couldn't cope and called it a day.0 -

Especially as your dreadful treatment described in your previous post is all too familiar in there. I hope the newspaper bods are reading posts like yours, it happens all too often in some stores.
No customer should be subjected to rudeness over a clear misprice of some meat, which 20 other customers have already been overcharged on that day and not noticed. Why shoot the messenger Tesco, it's your company that's breaking the law, not the customers!
If you want to see if I am right about this store allym316, pm me rather than name it here, I just have a feeling it may be, especially if the CS girl was blonde with a permanent scowl on her face. Can't wait to wipe it off for her...gently and politely of course...next time I am in.
Back on track here people.........
Have done just that Coupon-Mad and it will be most interesting to compare notes as she was indeed blonde and looked as if she was chewing a wasp. I wouldnt care but I was extremely polite and gave her no reason to be so objectionable. Maybe - nay definately - I should have been more insistent
I phoned HO and was told some blurb about being offered 500 clubcard points in apology (wowee! I bought over £10 worth of overcharged salmon so no comparison to the full rnr price really)
When I said that wasnt really adequate, the HO lady took my details and said the store manager would phone me about it
What a suprise.... no phone call some 7+ hours later and almost 24 hours after the event
Appauling customer serviceto the nth degree or what

Unfortunately as well, there have been people banned for less.....they dont like you getting one over on them at all.Couponing....."every little hurts"
Half of the people can be part right all of the time, Some of the people can be all right part of the time.
But all the people can't be all right all the time. .........I think Abraham Lincoln said that.

Seeking to abuse that is just so wrong it is painful to see all the !!!!!! attempt to justify it. Ultimately, the benefit is gone so I suppose the majority have yet again been shafted by a vocal, active yet amoral minority:mad:
So the character played by Prunella Scales in the advert was abusing the policy when she took items to the price check machine and said "that one's correct... and that one... and that one..."? It was Tesco's own idea to portray a customer behaving like that in their advert.
My interpretation was that Tesco were so confident in their price integrity that they were throwing down the gauntlet and inviting all customers to actively look out for misprices like the Prunella Scales character.0 -
(whoops sorry double post for some reason, have edited and replaced with this one)
Lhead... I was just trying to get that days meal at the price on the shelf and was convinced the pack price was wrong. £10 was 3 portions and as it didnt freeze I couldnt understand her objection, it wasnt as if it was an obscene amount that I couldnt possibly eat myself. Still its not my local store thankfully
and still no phone call, lol0 -
