I am so stealing that word, just got to work out a way to use it in everyday conversation :D
    :rotfl:

Go into the clothing department's fitting room, wait a few minutes then yell loudly "There's no toilet paper in here".
    dripple maybe?

Only up to £1000 ? Much, much more than that easily achieved up to 11th Feb. when the clothing coupons finished.

(Sorry if this is strictly speaking on the wrong forum but it does highlight T incompetance which is a recurring thread on here)

Tesco have only themselves to blame when allowing the £10 off £50 clothing to be used at the SAME TIME as the £7 off £35 clothing AND the £6 off £30 clothing voucher (the latter in the current Smokers Pack).

i.e. buy an item for £50 and save £23. ..... then allow you to return the item for a full £50 refund. Instant profit of £23. Some c.s. did realise that clothing coupons had been used .. then insisted on refunding that portion on a gift card which is just as good as cash.

The continual ineptitude of those in control at H.O. never ceases to amaze me. What more can I say. Thanks Mr T for a 'free' holiday to Singapore & Dubai.

It would not surprise me at all if coupon usage was the next focus, to be honest. My checkout managers are already pretty hot on abuse.

By not checking everyone's bag and not patting each customer down, are Tesco also responsible for shoplifting? If a women gets attacked, is it her fault for not carry a rape alarm or for wearing revealing clothes?

But, Constantine, why is it not stopped at source and not left to the individual manager ? It would be very easy to program the computers, for example, not to accept the £7 off £35 if the £10 off £50 had already been scanned - ditto with the £6 smokers pack one. (see my post above)

I think this is why so many people on here are so disparaging of T - things that can easily be sorted quickly aren't and are allowed to snowball uncontrolled.

Another example is the toiletries - with the "correct" use of coupons, which all checkout operators in my experience have allowed, it is possible to get T to pay you to carry the stuff out of the shop.

Because they're not expecting their customers to use the coupons for fraud against them?

I do not think there is anything wrong with using multiple coupons like that myself. Poor control maybe, but at least the item required is purchased and the use of the coupon/s is budgeted for.

Returning it for a refund is abuse if the coupon element is returned. Using invalid vouchers from other retailers is abuse. Trying to use out of date vouchers is abuse.

unfortunately things like this cannot be programmed at store level and have to be done by head office.

Whether or not it is easy i have no idea, however i do agree around the point that certain things take too long to get fixed. Around coupon abuse, the plain fact is that it should be watched and controlled by the checkout managers.
