Tesco misprice discussion area part 17

What is the company policy on voucher use?
Unlikely that you will get any stores which actually agree on this, some stores actively encourage coupon usage.0 -
To all the naysayers regarding r&r, coupon usage and most recently dtd worried they may lose out due to publicity and so called "abuse".
A grabbit thread normally lasts around a week or a little more as the offer is exploited and the company responds to rectify the glitch or other mechanism that has produced it, a GOOD grabbit thread can run up to a couple of months these are rarely the result of a glitch or other device which the offering company is suffering more likely a genuine intended offer by that company which has run it's course.
This thread based solely on the inability of Tesco's to resolve the chasm within it's pricing integrity department has lasted TWO AND A HALF YEARS come the end of February!
Don't worry about Tesco sorting things out and you losing out, it's not going to happen in a hurry, as another poster presented they have the means but not the WILL to do so.Four guns yet only one trigger prepare for a volley.Together we can make a difference.0 -
Tesco policy on coupon usage is unified throughout the company and can be explained in one word as usual. Ambiguous!FloFlo wrote:What is the company policy on voucher use?

Returning it for a refund is abuse if the coupon element is returned. Using invalid vouchers from other retailers is abuse. Trying to use out of date vouchers is abuse.
Whilst I tend to agree, if I return an item and the c.s. refunds the full amount, am I expected to refer her back to the receipt and tell her how to read it ? Only on one occasion was a refund of the vouchers refused point blank, on a few a gift card was given for the vouchers, but in the vast majority a full cash refund.
I don't feel that I abused the system. I did not demand a full refund - I simply presented my receipt and took what was given to me. After all, so many times on here we hear that the till or The Company is right. The fault also does not lie with C.S. - they are (probably) not terribly well paid employees trying to do their best while the top managers and I.T. gurus at H.O. get paid megabucks to get it wrong.
I also feel to some extent sorry for individual (local) managers - trying to interpret company policy without I imagine too much real guidance or leadership from above - witness the current debacle over when R&R ends and when 2x D takes over with each individual store seemingly 'doing its own thing'.0 -
How does one abuse the coupons?

Whether or not it is easy i have no idea, however i do agree around the point that certain things take too long to get fixed. Around coupon abuse, the plain fact is that it should be watched and controlled by the checkout managers.
Well I was under the impression that pricing is done at H.O. then rolled out electronically to all stores probably overnight. This should mean that an item is charged at the same amount in every store. Hence my assertion that the I.T. dept. could stop a lot of abuse at the touch of a few buttons.0
