This was in Coventry Walsgrave and on the floor of Cross point behind CS waiting to be wall mounted.
The phrase used is
"In the unlikely event that we charge you more than the price shown on the shelf or on the product we will refund you double the difference"
Might have already been posted but i not reading through, bit gutted but fun whilkst it lasted:mad:0 -
adadibhai wrote:How do ppl here go about finding misprices?? Do they actually make umpteen trips to the scanners - i've done it a few time and the first time i actually did it i got lucky, thereafter i haven't.
Sometimes i find it v. difficult because there may be only one scanner in the store, so i have to trek all the way to the scanner (which is like in freezer section) from the electricals department, and remembering the SELs is another problem alone!!
Is there an easier way please??
Take a trolley with you to disguie your itmes and lessen the journeys if you wish to use the scanner, but beware, scanning lots of stuff if seen, may make it a lot more difficult for you, if they assume you to be an RandRer.
Most misprices are caused by incorrect SEL's.
Walk down the electrical aisles, looking at the prices, the items are usually on more than one shelf, with maybe 3 SEL's for the same article.
Look at all 3 prices, to see if they are the same....if you spot one with a differing price, check the last digit of the item number. A £30 item SEL with a number 6 at the end, will be RandRable (usually) if the same item has another SEL at say £40 with a number 7 at the end. The end number denotes the issue number of the SEL, the 7 being a later issue than the 6....and the price the article will (usually)scan at.
I say "usually" above, it may not be, if for instance there should be a number 8 SEL with the lower price on it, which hasnt been put out.
Look for things with prices lower on the packaging, than is on the SEL, the majority of times the SEL is correct, and if the package price is lower, usually its RandRable.
All combinations of SEL, POS, pack price, stickers, can sometimes be wrong, but they may not all be RandRable.
It takes a while to recognise all the RandRable combinations, and by the looks of it, you havent got long enough left to learn, but you could still learn, and look out for items worth getting for "double the difference".
For meat/cheese/fish etc, walk down the aisles, checking to see if the per kg price on the packs is greater than the kg price on the SEL's, any higher kg priced packs are usually RandRable.
The individual price of the pack(on weighed items) is irrelevant, you only need look at the price per kg, for your comparison.
Good luck to allCouponing....."every little hurts"
Half of the people can be part right all of the time, Some of the people can be all right part of the time.
But all the people can't be all right all the time. .........I think Abraham Lincoln said that.

Does anyone know exactly what date it comes into effect? Is it one date across the UK, or simply applies when the blue board changes?
Am furiously R&Ring until the last minute...0 -
It goes live Monday 19th
If some places have their boards up already they shouldn't have
Prob some over paid Manager who thinks they can do it from nowSometimes I wake up grumpy, other times I let him sleep !:rotfl:0 -

Haven't you jumped the gun in your store?
Constantine, our regular Tesco poster here, says it goes live in week 1 (26th February).
If that's the case we could all contact HO within the next 10 days if only given 'double the difference', as we should be getting full R&R until midnight on the 25th. Might be fun to do this to HO anyway.
I think we should all do as Little John says and contact Watchdog. If nothing else, publicity (which Tesco clearly do not want on this subject) will make your average shopper more aware than they are at present. That will seriously increase the queues at the CS desks as we know overcharging IS rife and that many unsuspecting customers simply do not notice.PRIVATE 'PCN'? BTW I don't think that bringing back Dotty Turnbull would do much good, those ads were made several years ago and Prunella Scales has aged a bit since then (anyone see her on Loose Women....sadly she came across as rather confused and old...much more so than the character in the ads).
Hope Little John doesn't mind me repeating his link for Watchdog, this thread is fairly fast-moving at the mo and publicity of the new policy on TV or in the press would be a good thing for customers.
