Tesco misprice discussion area part 17

I had double the difference back on a DS game yesterday... £10 overcharge so £20 back plus unmarked receipt.. take it back today for full refund..£20 profit..not bad i guess!0

I think that contacting the press and watchdog will bring to light that supermarkets overcharge and that people should check what they are paying when shopping. Unfortunately Tesco is the one that has been hit hard as we all know they will give us the stuff for nothing if we notice the overcharge.
The asda policy of refund the difference and the £2 gift card just isn't as interesting as the item free, If asda were constantly changing the price on low priced goods less than £2 then it would be profitable to go find the misprices and buy a load get the refund and the £2 per item who knows maybe that will be our next big thing? but I tried a few things in Asda last night expecting an over charge and it scanned correct, older stock scanned at the new prices, Tesco can't do that for some reason hence all the meat overcharges. There is a system to make it work Tesco don't use it?
I don't know about the other supermarkets as I never go in them, hopefully it will get people checking what they pay and they will realise that ALL? supermarkets ain't quite as good as they say they are. Who knows maybe everyone will shop at local shops again?
We need to put the emphasis on Tesco no longer having the confidence in their price integrity that they showed back with Dotty and that being the reason they are revoking the r+r policy.

Just catching up from last night and reading all about just how complicated this all is re:refunds etc
Things is, we've all spotted the same problems/loopholes within a very short space of time, so why haven't Tesco? This DTD on meat/weight per kilo etc will cause untold headaches for even the most efficient CS, as will returns. If you consider that we know about this policy and have had several days to mull it over, what chance of the over-charged shopper who doesn't know about it?
I can see lots of people getting very irate with this and not just because they've been used to getting things for free - Most people just don;t have the time for returns/overcharges anyway and as there is always a queue at CS now, how long will that queue be when the CS is trying to work out the real price on half a dozen items of meat, all at different weights etc
Crackers, IMO - All Tesco will succeed in doing is driving customers away who won't want all this palava.
Or maybe they're banking on people not wanting to waste time over 6p and letting them get away with it?
Oh hush my cynical mouth..........It aint over til I've done singing....0 -
How do ppl here go about finding misprices?? Do they actually make umpteen trips to the scanners - i've done it a few time and the first time i actually did it i got lucky, thereafter i haven't.
Sometimes i find it v. difficult because there may be only one scanner in the store, so i have to trek all the way to the scanner (which is like in freezer section) from the electricals department, and remembering the SELs is another problem alone!!
Is there an easier way please??0 -
I think it is interesting that even this 'national' change of policy, which according to sources on here, has been 'in the pipeline' for months......still seems to be happening piece-meal.
What happened to this "WEEK 1" - ie Tesco Week One, when D-Day was going to be next Monday.
Some people have the new boards/signs up, some don't - me included
Some people are already being given the DTD, others full R&R - me included.
It will be interesting to see how long it takes ALL stores and ALL staff to follow the new company policy, and knowing Tescos efficiency in removing ood sels, presumably while you can still see one of the old R&R boards on display, they should still honour it
Oh well, it was good while it lasted, now its back to using coupons/vouchers to the max - wonder how long before they complain of their use/abuse !:D0 -
Constantine wrote:Or they could say that it is a review of a policy that has not changed since 1997 and it has been brought in to line with what is considered the industry standard. But then, I suppose that is not nearly so interesting.
What admission is this, Contantine?
He Who Shakes?
He Who Moves?
He is letting OTHER supermarkets dictate policy?

Tesco week 1 starts on the 26th, the 19th is the start of the final week of the financial year for Tesco. I think it was a case of the changes will be starting from the 19th, a few stores have jumped the gun a little.

fining misprices is just a case of knowing how Tesco work, keep an eye out for the offers expiring and the stores not removing the offer SEL they are easy ones, if they say save something when you buy 2 of something it is just case of luck people buy them normally and see that the offer doesn't kick in, look for stickered items and see if they match the SEL see if there are stickered items with different stickers. 90% of the time items will scan as per the SEL so you want the ones with lower prices than the SEL.
Someone else can go in to the meat ones, they are easy to spot just find the packs with the higher £/KG than shown on the SEL.0 -
