except munt, you and i both know that it won't happen.

There are a few on here that may place the value of correct pricing over getting something free but the majority on here are here for whatever they can get and as there is no financial gain to be had in contacting consumer direct (TS) with complaints we know very well it wont happen in the volume that it needs to in order for TS to act.

Well, we'll just have to make sure we rally the troops enough to report any misprices & get it reinstated!!!

(Not sure what "munt" means tho think it's an "ooh ahh" expression?!?)

Munt - Myusernamestaken for lazy gits that cant be bothered to type it.

Once the policy goes, the policy goes and it will not come back no matter how much reporting goes on!

    I'll second that....................

And I've never pretended anything else.

Got quite a bit today......first electrics for a while.

No one ever retreats, if they do it is a sign of weakness and the biggest supermarket in the country isnt going to look weak.

The removal of a policy that was initially brought in to prove to customers they were confident in their priceing being accurate has been removed speaks volumes as far as Im concerned. They have realised that they arn't quite as good as they thought. I don't think it would be removed if the console screw up hadnt happened last year that was a cockup of huge proprotions I hope the person that signed the posters and offers as ok was sacked.

    Perfect post Little John.

Tesco trumpeted the launch of the policy with a national TV advert, saying look at us, we don't make mistakes and if we do, then we apologise and give it you for free.

Now they find they aren't as good at their jobs as they thought they were.

Worth remembering (or not, take your pick ;) ) that the policy was introduced at the time when Tesco (and indeed most of the rest of the industry) moved to shelf edge pricing rather than individual packet pricing. That, I believe, is why the policy was put in place - to give customers confidence that the can of beans that used to have its own little price ticket would still be charged correctly through the new-fangled bar code scanner (its the Devils work I tell ya! :D ).

Would be interesting to compare the number of lines a supermarket carries now versus, say, 15 years ago. Quadruple would sound about right to me.

(not that the last bit there is relevant...just thought it was interesting :o )

    I am not sure

Totally agree Constantine that Tesco has grown into something far larger than anyone could have envisaged 15 years ago.

This, however, shouldn't be an excuse for making more mistakes.
