    Hi All

Well I'm of work ill today - not a good start as I have only been at the job 3 weeks!!!

But it does give me chance to post on here today. I do find with the littlies it is so hard to get over any cold that happens, so I am making the most of them being at nursery today
Hugs to all who are ill - I know there are quite a few on this thread with much more serious problems then mine, and I am alway impressed by how much you all seem to get done each day.

Anyway, nothing really old style here today - as I am back of to bed. But I will be having the pineapple jam I made yesterady for my lunch - it set a bit hard though so is a bit hard to spread - tastes good though. We got 3 pineapples for £1 as the market was closing - they looked quite bad on the outside from being out in the rain - so DH chopped them all up, and they taste great.

    Morning everybody :hello:

Haven't posted since Saturday morning but have read through the Sat and Sun threads. All those DisneyWorld pics... what good-looking families you all have!

Also hello :hello: to Stormybay and all the other new posters. I hope you will feel welcome here and stick around.

I laughed out loud at this:
Well, day one starts of my 'healthy eating' plan today, I'm not calling it the 'd' word as I tend to think I'm being deprived and end up eating more :rotfl: Seriously, the clothes in my wardrobe are now divided into two - those I cannot get my butt into and those I've had to buy to look respectable
Are you me in disguise, LMLOD? :D Am sitting here this morning in a brand new pair of trousers I got yesterday in the Next sale, a size bigger than any other pair of trousers I've ever bought  so I'm just hoping I don't need this size for too long. What on earth is it with M&S though? I was in there the other day and couldn't work out how in ONE single shop, some garments would be too big in a size 12 and others too small in a size 16? I agree with you about the "d" word, too!

Just broke my New Year Resolution #1  - well, sort of, it was only ever meant to be a "wherever possible" rather than "100% of the time" - overslept this morning and it was a choice between getting up and ready in 15 mins, and walking to work, or copping out and taking the bus, thus buying myself an extra 15 mins. Still I hate getting the bus in the mornings - packed with schoolkids and inconsiderate idiots playing rap music on their mobiles - walking is much better.

Am hoping for a no spend day today. This is much easier to achieve since I moved house, as I don't have to pass too any tempting shops/cafes on the journey into or home from work. Also, walking into work means I don't need to have something to do on the journey, whereas before I was buying the Times every morning for the Su Doku and the cryptic crossword.

Pooky I'm afraid if it's real flu you'll be flat out for at least a week, and you should STAY resting for another week after that even if you're feeling better or you'll overdo it and be knackered for weeks afterwards.

Hugs to all those who are feeling ill or whose little ones are ill.

Breakfast = pain au chocolat (from a pack that was reduced on Christmas Eve and has been in the freezer since)
Lunch = chicken chow mein - ready meal I'm afraid, but reduced to 39p and I couldn't resist as I love noodles!
Dinner = don't know. Meant to take some sausages out of the freezer this morning for a casserole but forgot  WIll possibly defrost in microwave and do the casserole anyway as I have loads of veg which needs using up.

Edit: oh and best of luck to Valentine x :)

    See you later
    Rzl xx

    Morning all

Great to see you Stormybay I know you will get loads of support from this lovely lot:T

Well thats it I suppose - gone are those lovely lie ins where the mornings snuck into the afternoon sometimes:o.

Having a frustrating morning all ready trying to get hold of people who are obviously still in christmas hangover mode. Was up until 2 am sorting out my travel arrangements for January which involves a combination of planes trains and automobiles:D Got some fantastic deals though like Glasgow to Gatwick flying for £19 :T and thats with BA - how on earth do they do it for that price? if I was driving that money in petrol wouldnt even get me half way there:confused:

I am also in the "very depressed with my weight" club. Put a pair of jeans on this morning and was totally disgusted by the overhang - it has to go:mad: I think a kitchen cupboard clean out is in order removing anything that has calories in it  and binning not eating!! I bought far too much chocolate and bitty things like nuts and crisps this year for some reason and I cant have it just sitting there calling my name:rotfl:

Right best get back to chasing elusive people:rolleyes:

    Have a lovely day all

Got a cassrole dish? Or pan with oven proof lid and handle?

You can do things in your oven at its very lowest setting. Esp if you sit it right near the bottom.

FF, have you tried Freecycle? I picked up one the week before christmas, and it's perfect.

Rzl, you could always walk home (but I do remember that you're not doing that because of the dark, so might not be sensible).

  • Or maybe you could try somewhere like freecycle - or they're half price in Sainsburys at the moment

  • I have a couple of le cruset cassarole dishes so the oven is no problem. I love that i can put the SC on in the morning and it is done at night.

Freecycle is a good idea i have put a wanted on.

I still can not belive how sill i was:eek:
