Good morning everyone
Penny-Pincher - good luck at the hospital ((()))
It's a cold Monday morning here in County Antrim. I was glad to get into work!!
The Christmas decorations have just been taken down here in the office; we took ours down at home on Fri. I always treated the 5th Jan as the 12th day of Christmas and we traditionally put the decs away then. Others may do differently, of course
Hope everyone has a good day0 -
Morning All
Got to post and run this morning, so ((hugs)) if you need them.
Today is the day I've been dreading, DD is off to nursery for the first time. I'm back at work after 4 weeks away. Got to go, hopefully speak later

:hello: Morning!
Can't believe we are in the 2nd week of 2007 already! Want to make the most of every day if I can. Today I have to freeze down some sausages, pork steaks and salmon as we went to Costcos yesterday. I should have enough meat and fish now to see us through a couple of months.
(((((Hugs))))) to Anniestar - the sadness will ease hun as life has a way of moving you on and you will always have your memories
((((Hugs))))) to Stormybay as well, lovely to see you over here, another day survived and you are doing so well, John would be so proud of you.
It is so lovely to have such a supportive community to visit whether you are feeling down or have some good news to share.
I am missing my Mum as we are heading into the difficult period she was so ill in, she didn't know us half the time and was very confused. Mothers Day is definately the worst for us as that was when she died. Hopefully she would be proud of the way I am sorting out our finances, wish I had listened to her more when I was younger though!:o
Well off for more :coffee: and then on with the day! Take care!

Morning all :hello:
Some of you do start early
Well it's Monday morning, I've watched the children going off to school and neighbours driving off to work and I'm sitting here with a mug of coffee.
So it must be true - I have retired
I know I will miss the chat with colleagues first thing so will probably be here most mornings.
Hugs for those that need them esp. after bad nights and hospital visits :grouphug:
Now I had better get started on Moggins list - you know what she's like.0 -

Morning all, hope everyone is well
Good luck at the hospital Penny-Pincher.
My kids are back to school today, they got there on time, with relatively little fussbut little DS did forget his PE kit, book bags etc, just have to take them tomorrow.
Anyway off to my sisters first, she owes me some £. Then need cucumber and bread from the shop. Back laterOne day I might be more organised...........

Slinkies target 2018 - another 70lb off (half way to what the NHS says) so far 25lb0 -
Morning all
Valentine - Good luck with the scan today.:j
Cat - I know what those childminder groups can be like, is it a network one, in my experience they were even worse as everyone seemed to be competing for the network organisers attention. Look at it as an outing for the littlies with the added bonus of your house staying tidier for an hour....:j
Still layed up in bed with flu, when are you supposed to start feeling better? Managed to oversleep as DH wasn't going to work and luckily woke just in time to get DD's up dressed and ready for school before collapsing back to bed (thank god they walk to the bottom of the road to catch the walking bus - saves me having to go out)
Been having a look at the flylady thread, feeling quite motivated to make some lists of things I know I need to do when I'm feeling better, have managed to keep on top of the washing but the TD has been called into play just for simplicity.
Dinner tonight will be something easy - sauasages and jacket pots I think, lunch will be what ever we fancy at the time - yesterdays was a satsuma and a chocolate biscuit (healthy or what)
Although I've not been out all weekend I managed to spend money on ebay and another craft site last night so must now find some stuff for ebay to redress the balance.
Hope you all have a good day."Start every day off with a smile and get it over with" - W. C. Field.0 -
Hi All,
First time on the first page for me for a long time!
(((PP)))- Good luck with hospital visit today & Valentine - good luck with your scan, you must be so excited!
Back at work today. I can tell the schools are back as the traffic was much busier on the roads this morning. I think lots of people have been having a really long break this year. Good for them. I wish I could have joined them too!
I have HM vegetable soup for lunch and I got chicken out of the freezer for tea. I don't know what to do with it yet though.
Off to the gym at lunchtime to blow away a few cobwebs, I ate far too much this weekend. I treated OH to a meal out at a lovely restaurant on Friday night and we both ate far too much!
I have managed to get all of my washing done, apart from two hand-wash jumpers which I will do tonight.
I have finally decided on my New Years Resolution. I will get out into the garden more. I had a couple of hours on Sunday clearing up in the garden and even though the weather was awful, I really enjoyed it and it made a difference to how it looks. This year we want to get a greenhouse and turn over some more of the lawn to vegetables/fruit. DS is really keen as well so I would like us to have a productive summer, to keep his and my enthusiasm going!
Right, a busy day at work today so I shall get on. Happy Monday to everyone!

Morning everyone,
Back to normal - everyone back to school/ work. Also the bin got emptied today for the first time since 23/ 12 ( we're on a fortnightly collection - but it was early because of Christmas). Normally it's ok but with all the extra Christmas rubbish it was getting desperate. I was cutting up old jeans for patchwork yesterday and the scraps are still in the middle of the sitting room floor because the dustbin and every other bin was overflowing.
So I'm off to start a fling boogie - although it might be closer to 27000 rather than 27!
The last two months I'm trying to shop monthly - one delivery from Mr T and then my veggies and eggs are delivered weekly so I only have to buy milk, fruit and yoghurt locally. Have to say it's saving a fortune on all those little trips to Tesco for one item where you end up spending £25. The philosophy is now - if it's not in the house and I can't make it -tough!!
I'm also going to have a good look at all my new cookery books - dh found my Amazon wish list for Christmas and I have also ordered a waffle iron from Tchibo for my birthday - not till the end of Jan but who cares!
Right off to start throwing away in style!
