Yes, they have been running simultaneously.
Apparently a mod thinks we haven't any chance of getting one now as this has been moved into the Gone section!

Just got back from the states and in the USA today (paper) yesterday HP anouned they were going to do "one" more production run (or something similar) at the knockdown price, so there may be some more on the way in the future0

Ok so I've just this from Amazon. I'll be calling HP at lunch time as I'm not sure this is right:
We're writing to you about your Amazon.co.uk order for the following:
HP TouchPad 9.7 inch Tablet PC (32GB, Glossy Black) - UK Version
We've been advised that you may be entitled to a partial refund from HP, as detailed at the HP website below, on the HP Touchpad you bought from Amazon.co.uk.
To apply for a partial refund please register at the HP website detailed below. You'll need to have to hand: the product serial number, your invoice (scanned into pdf, jpg, gif or png format), your address and the details of the bank account to which you'd like the refund sent.
We're advised that there's a time limit of 5 minutes to complete the form so please make sure you have these details ready.
1. Go to [not allowed to post links, but it's the same as listed above] and click on "continue".
2. Enter the serial number of your Touchpad and follow the instructions on subsequent pages.
You have until 1 October 2011 to submit your refund request.
If you have any questions or have difficulty with the website, please contact HP directly on 0845 270 4142.
We hope to see you again soon.
Warmest regards,

ha, thanks!
I'm not sure this is going to happen though, the HP site specifically says the device had to be resigistered before 23rd, and mine wasn't.
Wonder why Amazon are overcomplicating this? Maybe it's an issue of where they source theirs from.0 -

this is confusing since i am sure alot of people would have bought them as xmas and birthday gifts thus alot of people wouldnt have registered them before 23rd aug as they wouldnt even have opened them - this includes the people who were waiting to see if they would get refunded before they opened them - it should be going on date purchased rather than date registered.Top wins - £10,000 lottery/daily mirror, £5000 asda vouchers, £1000 washing machine, 2 week canaries cruise, VIP trip to the olympics, 46" 3D TV, personal chef, kitchen aid mixer, £1000 tesco vouchers - latest prize £10,000 road trip with kit Kat0 -
I've just spoken to HP to clarify things. The chap I spoke to confirmed (several times, lol) that as I purchased on 22nd at full price I would be entitled to the refund. I still need to register, but as the serial is on the box this wouldn't affect my ability to return it to Amazon if it all goes belly up.
So things are looking fairly good .... but this was the second person I spoke to, the first said that each case for refund will be decided individually on a case by case basis. So I'm going to have to keep everything crossed until that money's in my bank!
My head is spinning0
