  • Even worse, my laptop is on snooze all the time and I refreshed all my open pages at 4,45am when going to the loo.
Got up at 8.40 and decided to make my breakfast first before switching on.

Skylight, I agree with you on this one.

Simply Electronics are advertising 10 32gb at £269.95 or 3 16gb at £229.95 with free postage but that is more than eBay! :(

Just a heads up, before buying from Simply Electronics, you should check out the feedback on their Facebook page, I did and it's pretty sober reading. Look at all the comments after each post.

I don't see the point of paying a couple of hundred quid for this. Like other's who didn't manage to secure an HP Touchpad at between £89 and £115 I'm disappointed not getting one at that price but I hadn't even considered buying one until the price came down. The low price and frenzy to buy one of these seems to have made people who wouldn't normally buy "old technology, or in this case not so old and dated but obsolete technology", buy something they wouldn't normally buy. Will the people who bought them regret buying them in a few months because as other operating systems improve and android take over the market webOs goes nowhere? I guess at £89 you cant really complain when it doesn't perform and work out in the long term. I tried a display model at Comet in Uddingston yesterday and its not particularly user friendly. At £89 its OK as a toy, but give me a laptop any day.

If Cyanogen manage to successfully port Android over to the Touchpad, then you'd end up with an Android tablet for a very good price!

I think it also depends on what you want to do with it. If all you want to do is browse the internet, watch YouTube clips and play Angry Birds, then it doesn't really matter if WebOS is outdated or not. I still have Windows XP on my netbook :)

What they meant was they had several hundred sold in minutes to staff that had put in pre-orders and the remaining 3 were allocated into general stock!!!!

I by chance decided to check HDUK forum and saw the frenzy going on but by the looks of it A LOT of posters there managed to get one however there is one guy who ordered 6 and for no apparent reason as well...

6? So much to it being 1 per customer.

The reason for ordering 6 is pretty obvious, they will be going on ebay.

Yeah there was no limit to order numbers like I mentioned I got two one for me & one for the missus but I imagine there's a lot of people out there who ordered more then 6 as tbh it wasn't exactly a major site for people to be checking...and they sold out of hundreds in minutes!!!
  • Arggh! I keep missing getting one of these! lol :wall:

Wow so many Apple bashers here, I was just pointing out there is simply no point paying £200 for a discontinued HP when you can get a second had iPad 1 for that price. It's superb saying lack of flash is a problem is a smoke screen unless your under 5 and like playing browser games! The fact is has thousands of apps more than double any other device makes it an incredibly handy tool. I'm no Apple fanboy either I have PC's and as an electrical engineer tested hundreds of other devices. Besides it's not Apple people should be worried about Google is the one, they will easily swamp the market very soon.
Anyway as I said am just trying to help, if u can get a HP for £89 then great but more than that get a small notebook or second hand iPad..don't pay for a HP over £100 to people trying to make a quick buck on EBay

Cheapest unused i can find on ebay is £150.

Tempting but then i caught sight of "It was an unwanted gift." lol. :rotfl:

I hope he never makes a sale again.

    EDIT: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=140600464860&clk_rvr_id=261246252337#ht_500wt_1156

32gb for £155? Now i'm sorely tempted. It was £115 when the firesale was on, so an extra £40? Not bad.

There are 5 and 6 days left to go on those auctions.. Don't count on getting one that cheap on ebay.
