I watched this on TV last night, very interesting, seems the RRP they are using is often illegal (TKMax) and should not be used as a guideline as to the true cost of the things. They use cheaper materials and finishings on the clothes made especially for outlet shops.
I give them a wide berth personally.

Oh I watched that as well, the TKMax thing was obvious, but the Ralph Lauren and MK I was quite shocked about so agree with them to a point what this show was saying but do still think there are genuine bargains to be had in outlet shops, Monsoon for instance has an outlet shop at clarks village and they do have stuff for sale from the normal shops as well you just need to know what to look for but Next is rubbish you can tell that the quality is far below than what they have in their high street stores. I bought my Mulberry bag from the outlet in Shepton Mallet (next to the factory) and I love it, it is very well made it smells lovely, it is still far better quality than anything that I would get on the high street and it is at the end of the day still a Mulberry bag that will last for years, yes it's not the Bayswater that is in the shops at the mo but I don't really care as I have my own style, I cant say that I would rush back to buy another bag anytime soon as they are still expensive, but I weigh up what I can afford and how much use it will get, so far I've used it everyday and it still looks like new
  • I have recently bough few bags from this website LUVIPOL CO UK
My sister want some bags so i had ordered Longchamp and Michael Kor and delivery address is Thailand, the items had been send after i paid nearly a month even they charge for delivery and guarantee 5-10 days.

Once the item arrive Thailand my sister receive a call from courier to collect item and pay for tax and delivery charge extra £20 !!!

She open the box and found the items was fake i try to contact seller to get money back or even ask for tax and delivery charge refund few email but no reply at all.

Anybody has this experience with this website and could advise me please what should I do.

    Thank you.

They're Chinese, Ouinatcha. See this post that I made earlier in this thread for details on how to get your money back:

  • HI, there is a site called mulberryoutletyorkhere . co. uk (sorry it won't let me post proper urls as I'm a new member.) Prices look too good to be true, so probably are, but just wondering if anyone can confirm?
  • Ah I've read their terms and conditions where they admit they're not real. Which is honest of them and I suppose if you order you at least get a bag, albeit probably not a very good one!

Not only are they Chinese, which means everything will be badly made counterfeit rubbish, but my anti-virus blocked me from visiting the website because of malicious content.

Hi, Just a word of warning for everyone scammed by these Chinese counterfeiters if you bank with HSBC.

I realised within a few minutes that I'd bought a work bag from a fake site and called HSBC immediately to be informed that they couldn't prevent the money being taken from my account - which duly happened about 4 days later! I went through the steps necessary to dispute the transaction - completing form, providing additional notes, evidence etc.

The £260 taken by 'Smeng Network Tech' was put back into my account by HSBC. I binned the lump of plastic rubbish that turned up and thought nothing of it and then a year later my accountant noticed that HSBC had taken approximately £260 back out a few weeks after they had put it in. I looked into it and the Disputes team had contacted the 'retailer' who had said the transaction was proper so took the money back out. HSBC essentially took 'Smeng Network Technology's' word for it rather than a longstanding small business customer, despite the obvious and overwhelming evidence that I had been defrauded by a Chinese counterfeiter . Apparently HSBC wrote to me to tell me this, though I didn't ever receive the letter.

I didn't notice the money had been withdrawn again as I have two businesses and a lot of in and outgoings. Because I contacted them after the timescale to claim with VISA, all HSBC have been willing to do is credit me with £60 as a 'gesture of goodwill' and constantly remind me that I should have contested the issue inside the time window. The fact that HSBC didn't stop the fraudulent transaction in the first place and actually found in favour of a Chinese counterfeiter appears to be absolutely irrelevant.

HSBC: 'Our disputes department is unable to assist you regarding the above mentioned disputed transaction as the timescale to claim the transaction has elapsed'

Brilliant customer care, not. HSBC on their customers' side? It doesn't feel like it.

So bear this in mind if you do quickly get onto your bank. Don't trust that they will be on your side, especially if it's HSBC.

    Hello,

I just wanted to add my experience to this conversation. I know this is my first post so you can take or leave what I'm saying but I actually felt compelled to sign up and write.

I purchased a Mulberry handbag in April 2012. From one of the Mulberry outlet store websites (I don't remember which one).

We got an email immediately with a genuine tracking number (EMS coming from China), the email was from a gmail account.

The handbag arrived 4 weeks later and it looked very well made. Last August (2013) one of the handles started pulling away and I had to take it to a specialist repair shop in central London to get it fixed. This guy deals with high end handbags every day for the last 30 years. He could not tell that it wasn't genuine! The girlfriend uses it almost every day for the last two years and still loves it. It is now over 2 years later and starting to show signs of wear but (knowing nothing about handbags) I assume that's from constant use.

When we bought it we knew what we were getting into but we thought for the price £130 for an £800 handbag it was worth the risk of £130. We also paid for it on the credit card, because we felt that would minimize our risk.

I'm not advocating buying fake goods and I'm sure that some of the websites will sell appealing counterfeits but we had a very positive experience and I guess I wanted to post to stop people from worrying if they have already purchased because you thought it was genuine you can end up with a good quality handbag.

You didn't get an £800 handbag for £130, you got a copy of a bag for £130.
Just because a bloke repairs bags regularly does not make him an expert in individual brands. I can spot a fake mulberry at 20 paces but wouldn't have a clue about LV, Balenciaga, Hermes etc. (though have spotted some very rank fake Birkins!!).

I don't mean to be offensive but you really can't be promoting cheap a$s fakes on here. You might not be able to tell the difference but anyone who knows anything about the brand can.
The trouble with the world is that the stupid are cocksure and the intelligent are full of doubt.
