Reclaiming charges, but bankrupt (merged threads)

was discharged dec 05 asked if could claim back and keep money. guess what they said yes:j .my suggestion to anyone who wants to do the same,just drop them a line(to the or that delt with your bankrupty.good luck

Two questions: To collect information about my previous accounts do I need to submit £10 for each account with a bank? Or £10 per bank? The second question explains this mess .. I'm a discharged bankrupt (personally declared), do I have any legal or moral authority to claim back the charges applied to my accounts? These accounts were closed a few years ago as a result of the court action. The bankruptcy was in-part due to the spiralling charges and banks ignoring my requests for negotiations. I had to request letters of deadlock before I filed for bankruptcy.

Yes you still have as much right to claim as anyone else

It is £10 per company/bank, if you have more than one account with the same bank one cheque is sufficient.

What happens if you owed the bank,and they were in the list of creditors,you owed money too?

answer.tough. too late.there have no right to it now. they were delt with at the time of bankrupty.if still not sure ,write to your or for comfirmation.I have now sent my letters off,and waiting.will let you know the answers i get back from all five finance companies.good luck

I went bankrupt last year and just recently attempted to claim my charges back from capital one. They said they could only pay half the charges so i aggreed if they sent me a cheque. They have sent me a letter saying they have refunded this £88 to my account reducing my balance?
The account is closed, as I am paying the insolvency service £200 a month between all my debtors. Please help can they do this? should i contact the insolvency service and explain that they have broken the bankruptcy aggrement by not refunding me the money. ?
Please help, as im worried all other banks may do this to me>

to be honest, i wouldve though that the can do it since youre behind paying them. i dont know much about bankcrupcy though so i might be wrong. im trying to get my barclaycard money back and, to be honest i think they'll just use the money to pay off my card balance. i dont mind b/c im not desperate for cash at the moment but i know what it feels like when you are, trust me! ive got my fingers crossed for you, maybe you couldcall them and ask ?

Can you reclaim bank charges if you have gone bankrupt in the past and your bankrupty order is over?

I would be very interested to know.

Was wondering if anyone could tell me whether or not I am entitled to claim back my bank account and credit card charges over the last 6 years as I am at this moment in time declared bankrupt? Also, if I do reclaim the charges, am I obliged to pay them to the official receiver and part of reclaiming monies owed to my creditors?
