Hello everyone - just stopping by to see if anyone's left a stash of spoons around that I can raid.:D
DS new bed has been delivered and assembled. DS had to be evicted from his old one so they could take it away!
I have a mental picture of the delivery men carting the old bed away with CY's DS still in it!:rotfl:

I have read the spider capture/release annecdotes with interest. they don't bother me but I must admit to using the hoover to get the ones that colonise the coving - and yes the hoover does get emptied immediately into the outside bin!
I always used to just pick them up in my hand and pop them outside. These days, my hands often go into spasm, and I'd risk injuring the spider, so I use the glass-over-the-spider-and-slide-cardboard-underneath technique now.:o

If this were me I would give the bathroom a wipe over weekly (shouldn't take long) and run some water down the drain and flush the loo (and add bleach) Just to keep water in the bends/traps (or they'll get whiffy.

I would also air the rooms regularly. Are you closing/opening curtains?

By hoovering you're keeping the risk of insect visitors down, so at least every couple of weeks if you're in and out.
I agree with Valli; our spare room is used for storage, and I [STRIKE]hoover [/STRIKE] get Mr LW to hoover it weekly when he does the rest of the bungalow, and go round with a duster weekly. Even unused rooms are still going to get dusty, and it does mean that I can check for incursions of the insect kind.;)

Thanks Valli and PigPen. I think I will just dust and hoover once a month unless someone is coming to stay in them. I will however give bathroom a quick clean every couple of weeks and make sure I keep the toilet clean and moving !!!
I have an OK cleaning routine (Mainly due to no longer working full time !!) but have a lot of hot spots and a particular RoD. I am going to tackle it every day this week for half an hour as a friend is coming to pick up stuff on Friday to take to a car boot sale for a charity I support. THIS IS TOO GOOD AN OPPORTUNITY TO MISS.

Well I'm going to get at least 2 weeks of enforced no flying. Have been having old BD problems and gone back to drinking. DH going away for 2 weeks and not happy to have me home alone so I'm being packed off to my parents. Joy. But at least they are prepared to have me and the furry beast. Only trouble is I've fot to negotiate Glasgow to London on the train with suitcases and dog. Thankfully DD has agreed to meet me at Euston to help with the underground.

I'll stay in touch but won't have much 'flying' to post except work and possible Toots list progress.

As of Friday you can have all my flying spoons. My cleaning standard isn't good enough for my mum. What am I going to do with all that time? Parents mean well but we have so little in common about 2 days is record.

Cat.. so sad to see the BD bit your bum... hopefully 2 weeks with your parents will pass quickly.. the threat of spending that long with mine would scare the BD away!

Hair washed... it nearly killed me!!

Squeaks birthday balloon reinflated.. it is big and round again now so she is batting it about the floor :D

Best sort my 2 parcels to be flung.. and get some food before I fade away.

Cat_smith my best suggestion would be lots of quality time with the Furry Beast.:o Even if you're not officially Flying, do pop in and post, won't you? Cos I'll worry if you don't!:o

Thanks for all the lovely spoons, folks; I've prepped tonight's dins (sausage and egg salad - sausages and hb eggs are cooked, as are the spuds for the potato salad), and I'm going to take a duster to the bedroom now - lots of dragons to dust in there!;)

As it's a nice day, I also did a WM load, which is out on the line, and Ted and I have had a game of tug-o-war in the garden:D

    Dusty dragons, here I come......:rotfl:

Monday ~ Kitchen and dining area Done!!:D:D:D
    Level One
    Level Two
    Level Three

Also taken the new car to garage to find out if the clutch is okay (have to lift it almosat all the way up before it bites - apparently normal for this car, so I'll have to get used to it!) and bought a set of car mats. I'm allowing OH a couple of hours this pm to play with my new toy.;)
Ongoing energy slump, but may try to do the cloakroom, hall and living room....
