Washing on line. DS has picked up another work shift so there weill be peace instaed of a trail of destruction today! I will take DD2 to see Super 8 - she moaned when someone let slip that DD1 and I had seen it last week when she was away.
DS (19) - unhappy at being ID'd for a 15 film on monday ( The Inbetweeners) - golly that made me laugh...:jFlylady and proud of it:j0 -
Morning!
I'm very tired today. I had a busy day yesterday visiting my homestart family followed by 2 hours ironing, throwing together a shepherds pie for DH and the little ones for dinner. I then collected DD2 from her friend and took DS3 to his swimming lesson. We got caught in unexplained traffic on the way back so were late heading up to London for Mamma Mia. DD1 and DS1 who did good impersonations of 15 and 14 year olds were great company and we had a great evening. We got home at midnight and I had to take DD1 to work at 3.30 this morning so I'm very subdued.
DH (and the 2 little ones) managed to eat 2/3rds of the shepherds pie. I'm not very happy as I wanted it to stretch to tonight. DH told me it was my fault for not making enough. I used a kilo of minced lamb, 2 large onions, 4 carrots, 2 parsnips, 1 sweed and a couple of handfuls of peas topped with 8 large potatoes worth of mash.
I need to borrow a carseat from someone because DH forgot to take it out of his car this morning. More ironing awaits my attention and the kitchen is looking rather sorry for itself.
Vanilla and AJ I hope your sore throats/stiff necks improve
Spoons and supporting vibes to Lady Liberty, Toots and Lamewolf.
Wendywitch - I hope today is better for you.
Pigpen - power into the painkillers and a boot for your OH to get off his a$£e and give you the help you so rightfully need.
I have read the spider capture/release annecdotes with interest. they don't bother me but I must admit to using the hoover to get the ones that colonise the coving - and yes the hoover does get emptied immediately into the outside bin!0 -

Wow, washing lego, must try that! I have one of those mesh bags for washing "delicate" items of clothing; the bag's about the same size as a sheet of A4 paper.
Anyroad, I'm doing a 5 day week at work this week but, as Him Indoors is away at the weekend, I can make as much mess as I like while tidying up and getting ready for the vintage fair on Monday:rotfl:
And I love the phrase laundry bomb. There's one gone off in our kitchen and the bedroom and there's even one gone off here at work!:D

Goodintentions and short-bird, I tied it into a pillowcase and put it inside another pillowcase in case any little bits escaped then just put it on the quickest wash. the second half is now spread on a blanket in the garden to dry. It was obviously owned by boys previously and was pretty grimy, but I'm so pleased with it, there must be nearly 100 quids worth of stuff there with all the figures and bits:D [STRIKE]i'm going to have[/STRIKE] the kids are going to have lots of fun playing with it all. (trying to work out strike, lol).
got the car to the garage and rode my bike back
podded the last of the peas for tomorrows tea
boiled up 1pan white and 1pan normal beetroot for pickling
need to get stuck into the bedrooms, but DH works nights and is in bed
not going out today, so the girls are going to play with lego while I stew apples and make chutney, then we may bake together and maybe make pizza for tonights tea.freecycler and skip diver extraordinnaire:cool:0 -

I'm tying visiting unis in with meeting flyladies. So I'm off to Bournmouth to meet one. Who wants to meet me at Birmingham? Who else has a good uni near them? Sorry should be concentrating on the courses DS1 wants to study
Sheffield (2 Universities - I THINK they're called Wednesday and United;))
This could also include Mummyoffive and AnWsMum btw; Penny Penguin could probably make the same ones as Mrs C if she's about...)

Mrs C - cleaners round here are anything from £10 to £18 an hour. My neighbours kids get £5/hour for odd jobs including cleaning as they are all under £18. My friend's daughter who has just graduated is doing cleaning for £8/hour. I pay £11 for the brilliant lady who came on Monday. My new ironing lady charges per kilo which is great as you know when she takes it how much it will cost... £4.80 per kg.
Blood taken. Cannot believe how feeble I feel getting breathless walking the half mile into the village and back out. Results in a week...0 -

I was going to say use a mesh bag if you have one, failing that a tied pillowcase. I spread it out to dry outside on a towel. In fact I ought to bring the Lego from school home to wash. The thought of germ ridden kids playing with unwashed Lego year after year makes me ill:o and I didn't get it washed last summer:p
When I was involved with toddler group, at the start of summer we used to hand over toys to be taken home to be washed, and brought back so that's when I learned about this! Mind you I used to be less than happy with the kids playing with the toys in the doctors.
Anyone with a Toots hotline send her my love. Glad you worked out the Hotel California thing Mrs. C.;)
LOVING the fact that mis sold load from wife made the e mail!
Ironed what's been washed and dried so far, more washing on the line.Don't put it DOWN; put it AWAY"I would like more sisters, that the taking out of one, might not leave such stillness" Emily DickinsonJanice 1964-2016

Good job OH and DS1 don't read this - they support Barnsley (but not much of a Uni here).
I'm in absolute awe of what you're trying to get through, vanilla.
Swimming lesson has been decluttered and DS1 has been removed from his pit in preparation for the big job hunt (once he's been fed).
