Tales from a country cottage
Comments
-
I have a friend coming to stay with us this weekend. The weather is supposed to be gorgeous so our cottage will be at its best.
I'm hoping to spend it lounging around, planting the odd flower, drinking some wine (a treat, cos I need it right now!) and having long chats, long lies and cooking some lovely vegan chilli.
I'm so excited about it!And all cheap, cheap, cheap!
Sounds like a great weekend:DBe the change you want to see -with apologies to Gandhi

One more week until I'm off on annual leave. I didn't know whether to cancel it or not given my redundancy but hey, I need it.
I've not made any plans yet but have a vague one to visit a pal and her baby and have a day out with them.
I could do with some mystery shops during that week. And maybe get back into the matched betting I'm always talking about. I must do something cash earning. I might even put up some adverts for music lessons too.
It would also help to get ahead of myself with reading for uni.
Maybe I'll make a list...I like lists for keeping me right.
At the moment, I'm congratulating myself for every small thing I get done. And why not? I could be totally immobilised by all the uncertainty right now but I'm refusing to let it beat me.If you know you have enough, you're rich.0 -
Hi Igamogam
You're up early too, then? We've got fog here...how's it with you? Looking sunny? If you know you have enough, you're rich.0 -
Yup up early here as DD2 going on school trip to scary theme park and they had to be at school at 5.45am. 30 coaches of hormonal teens not my idea of a fun day out - give me mad frogs any day! However I didnt need to be up as DD2 very sensibly suggested that as we live 'way out beyond' she stay with school friend who lives virtually next to school, but she sent a text at 5.15am to tell me I had left my Mr T clubcard in the bag of goodies I dropped off at friends house last night:mad:
Its sunny and must be no fog as OH is going flying - he doesnt work on a Friday 'to help around the house'. This was an arrangement agreed to 4 years ago and so far virtually every Friday is a flying day:oBe the change you want to see -with apologies to Gandhi

Forgot to say. If the worst happens and redundancy happens I am sure they have to pay you for any unused AL....not entirely sure but worth looking intoBe the change you want to see -with apologies to Gandhi

Yes a bus load of teens would be beyond me right now too, but I hope they have fun. Quite fancy a day out to a theme park myself. I love a good rollercoaster.
I think my AL is pretty much used now for this half of the year. I pondered saving it up for extra cash if redundancy comes but honestly, I'm so sick of the place I just want a week off.

How's thing's at your work?
Grim grim grim. I found out by accident that there was a 'big meeting' yesterday. Faceless people making decisions about my and others futures without the decency to tell us or even introduce themselves. Boss man said he would be in touch as 'soon as he knows anything' He knows a lot more than he is letting on so I am sure it wont be til Monday til he has the balls to call me:mad: I am going to enjoy the sun while it lasts:DBe the change you want to see -with apologies to Gandhi

Oh dear...I've got my fingers crossed for you that it's nothing too awful.

Finally something good happens. My car insurance, after messing me around considerably, are going to cover the cost of my wee accident earlier in the week.
Woo Hoo!!!!!!!!:j:j:jIf you know you have enough, you're rich.0 -
Great news re insurance - what a weight off your shoulders. Still no word from the decision makers. I am told not to worry as I have a job......but no one knows where, who with in and in what capacity. I feel an email coming on to my union rep - enough is enough now.Be the change you want to see -with apologies to Gandhi
