Thanks everyone for the good advice. I think I've decided to try and negotiate with the landlord. He's a good bloke and I'm hoping he'll listen to reason.
Just bought 12 months' road tax online. :j I only just had enough cash but am extremely chuffed to have managed it. Yey!
My cold is still streaming. Bah!
I've seen another job to apply for and am going for it. I'm much less anxious now and able to think reasonably about it all. There is work out there, and I will find it!If you know you have enough, you're rich.0 -

Hi there everyone
Thanks for all the lovely messages...my cold is indeed much better now. Thank goodness.
It's been a rough few days since I've been on here. The stress at work continues and as a result, I managed to bump someone's car in the car park the other day...£350 of repairs just like that. :eek:And on their car, mine was fine. I was so angry at myself. What an utter waste of a huge amount of cash. I keep doing daft things like catching my fingers in doors and dropping and breaking things. I have a week's AL booked at the start of June and am seriously looking forward to it. I really need a break.
It's lovely to be back at uni and everything's going well there. Yey!
I'm continuing to try and take this redundancy process one day at a time. The goal posts keep changing, people continue to take voluntary redundancy because they just can't handle the stress and it's all very difficult. But I'm hanging in there.
The bosses latest move is to tell us that the one job I'm hoping to go for, which I was supposed to be able to apply for part-time (because of uni) now has to be applied for as a job share. Now, I don't even know what job share means, what the conditions are, or anything. Plus, I keep hearing that my organisation has a very special and particular understanding of job sharing. I only discovered this last night so will try and find out today what's what.
The main problem is that now all my lovely colleagues who will also be applying for this job have to start pairing up into 2s for the job share appliation. Which means people will be feeling hurt and left out if they don't manage to pair up, resentful and even more angry than they are already are.
Could this get any worse???:mad::mad::mad:
Good news for me is that the minute we found this out, my buddy rang up and said 'let's go for it. We need the job and the cash and we'll be a good team'. So that's what we're doing. But breaking it to the others is not going to be good.
I just want this to be over now yet the interview dates have now been pushed back twice so the limbo continues...
Here's hoping its worth it and I have a job at the end of it.
Happy money saving everybody.
And isn't this sun-shiney weather the greatest? If you know you have enough, you're rich.0 -
Your employer certainly has a weird interpretation of a job share! In my world job share means a FT post occupied by 2 ( usually) PT employees - we have a TA post which is a job share - the person doing the job wanted to work PT after returning from maternity leave so it was change to a job share - no need to bring your own partner! They sorted out the days and hours to suit - one works 3 days and the other 2. Nothing more complicated than that!
Hang on in there Ani - hope its sorted soon:o Mind you at the rate people are going it might be last one standing so make sure you have a firm footing;):rotfl:
Boo hoo to accident - enjoy the ALBe the change you want to see -with apologies to Gandhi

LOL!!! :rotfl: You're absolutely right. I may get the job by default...no-one else left to do it.
I really have to laugh or I'd go mad.If you know you have enough, you're rich.0 -
It's the day we all love...pay day!!! :T:T:T
I've topped up the petrol and food accounts and paid our cash to MiL. I'm sat looking at the total left and wishing I could double or triple it.
The debt has of course gone up this month due to the car accident. But I'm not dwelling on it...just trying to cook up a plan to pay it off.
I have another two full wages at least until redundancy. Then another one which will be a part wage. I need to make this stretch as far as it can go.

I have a friend coming to stay with us this weekend. The weather is supposed to be gorgeous so our cottage will be at its best.
I'm hoping to spend it lounging around, planting the odd flower, drinking some wine (a treat, cos I need it right now!) and having long chats, long lies and cooking some lovely vegan chilli.
I'm so excited about it!And all cheap, cheap, cheap!
