Yes it is quiet isn't it?!

Ha! carrots! I took a bag of them on my outward journey, kept people awake scrunching on 'em. They weren't bad but you never say "Yum yum" when you've eaten a raw carrot do you. Anyway, I really really hate cooked carrots. But on hols a little pre-dinner dish was brought to me containing olives in one side and slices of cooked carrot in the other. I thought "Well I'll try the carrot cos olives are syns". They were NICE. Cold cooked carrot tossed in (I imagine) olive oil and lots of crushed raw garlic. They werent oily that's why I'm assuming there was olive oil but if there was it was minimal, a spray would do it just to get the garlic to stick :D I might try to make it if I can be bothered cooking a carrot for hours. Unless anyone knows what the dish is called?

Oh that sounds nice. I love roasted carrots, so sweet and only need a squirt of oil or fry light. Felt a bit like bugs bunny munching on a raw carrot yesterday!:rotfl:

    Had a Green day today:
Brekkie: strawbs, raspberries and banana with total 0%
Lunch: 2x wholemeal bread (HEB1and2) baked beans and 42g half fat cheddar (HEA1)
Snacks - was tired and hungry today so ate a bit of junk at work :(
Cup of tea w/splash of milk (1/2 syn??)
    SnackaJack chilli curls (4.5 syns)
5 dry roasted peanuts (2 syns)
    Minestrone mugshot
    Diet Coke
    Milkybar buttons (8 syns)
Dinner: Veggie chilli made with 1/4 tsp olive oil (1/2 syn), mixed beans, loads of mixed veg, tomatoes, various spices, boiled rice and 42g half fat cheddar on top (HEA2)

Total syns = 15.5 Not as bad as I was expecting actually :o

Walked home from work which was about 30 ins including stopping in lidl for more veg. :D

I've been awol due to bad back stopping me sitting at computer:( but pain free today so here I am!!

I'll get my retaliation in first and explain that today is DH's birthday.

breakfast and supper have been fine:

B: NAS squash, 2 boiled eggs, HEB toast, HEA milk for teas, satsuma
    D: toast & laughing cow

But for lunch I had steak with salad but unfortunately with coleslaw and chips and wine and then followed by cake and champagne. Definitely a flexi day!:rotfl:
  • look what I've just googled and found: http://portuguesemenu.blogspot.com/2008/09/portuguese-covert-seasoned-carrots.html it sounds much like what I ate (and, surprisingly to me, enjoyed). She says "plenty of oil" but mine wasn't oily, but she does say her recipes differ from the norm. We have a tasting next week, I might take some along.

Right time for bed now; I love a week off work - I can stay up late :D

Glad to see some life here. Love these 'flexi' days as I had to use one again.!!!

    B -- fruit (kiwi / orange) egg/tomato/teaspoon mayo & 2 scan bran
    L -- speed soup
D -- Out for meal with friends- shared a starter -- chillie squid (small taste) main course -- duck breast with decorative pureed parsnip and red cabbage -- all ok except the dauphinoise potatoes and the garlic chips that jumped into my mouth :o

I drank water but when the others were having various desserts I had a glass of wine and another before we left. Unfortunately they all work tomorrow so me home early (10.30) and another glass of vino. So will have to sit and TRY to add up syns. :(
