Aww TakeItEasy
Sorry to hear your sad news. I sometimes wonder if life throws us bad things to make us realise how good the good times are? Either way I'm sure in time you will start to feel a bit better, not easy I know
Good luck at WI, however you do, sometimes other things are more important xxx

. I am in such an unhappy place at the moment but I refuse to resort to popping pills again. Will be so glad to see the New Year, fresh start and all that.
Will NOT get upset with WI as KNOW I have gained but back on the wagon next week for sure. Know I can lose it all again, thats if hubby lets me do cooking now and again.
TIE I'm sending you some cyber {{{{{{{{hugs}}}}}}} and hope this period passes quickly for you and you can look forward to happier times.
Have a couple of stiff drinks to bring in the New Year and a new chapter in your life - if the tears water it down does that mean less syns??Mediterranean Mum
hoping to lose 50lb by February 2013! 2st lost so far :j0 -
Can someone please tell me how much it is to join a SW group? Is there a joining fee and then a weekly fee to pay?
I'm going to be in the UK in February and thought I would join so that I can get all the booklets and lists which I'm definitely lacking. I worked out where the nearest group is and I'll actually be able to get to two meetings so it'll give me an extra boost hopefully.
I have 6 weeks until I fly and really want to move some kilos as I'll be seeing a very good friend who has lost 4 stone since he was over here 4 months ago! All done with SW I'm pleased to say but I'd like him to see a difference in me too as I'm sure I'll see a big difference in him.Mediterranean Mum

MM someone will be along but I think it's about £20 the first night to join and get the books and the talk, then it's a fiver a visit after. But there are often special half price offers in magazines like Bella, someone will know.
I just bought the Jan/Feb magazine with the little SW/Muller recipe book - I want to make a jarful of that ketchup, it sounds lovely, has anyone done it? I only ask because of the reputation of SW recipes to give too much liquid.:jThat's 2 stone 9 lbs gone forever:j

That's a lovely way of putting it. I'm sharing that sentiment too tie. Most of us have a few sad thoughts at the turn of the year but for you it's been horrendous (was it anus horribilis the queen called it once;)). Hopefully 2012 will be good to you and yours.
I think it may be more like £10 for the first visit mm (£5 joining and £5 class fee) and that will give you the books and talk. The talk will mainly focus on EE plan. Unfortunately once you stop going you won't be able to access website for syn values. But we can, so just ask! BR's exactly right about the free joining voucher in magazines. That's always been the case before. If we see one that lasts 'til Feb, I'll let you know.
Will you be staying with your SW friend? Wouldn't that be great to be fed all SW friendly food?:D0 -
Hi again!
I've just been thinking about portion sizes following my tea. I don't usually weigh spaghetti and rice etc but I had a look at the packet and for spaghetti it said 75g dry weight was a portion. Out of interest I weighed it and it was small in comparison to my normal portion. I compromised at 100g and it was a good sized portion that filled me up but I'm worried its too much.
I know with SW you don't weigh and measure but am I being over generous?
On the positive side the only syns I've had today is 1 sherbet lemon found languishing in the kitchen (2 syns?) and I'm off to bed soon so no more scoffing.0 -

i joined again in summer (cheaper than all the back fees :rotfl:) and it was £9.95 - £4.95 class fee and £5 with half price membership. i seem to remember the first time i joined years ago it was the same price then so i'd expect it to be a tenner.
you only pay the fee if you go so if you make 2 classes the second one will be £4.95, if you only make the one it'll just be the first £10.
also, years ago i bought the food directory for a tenner from group that has pretty much every syn value you could want in it, if you aren't going to be going to group or having access to syns online it might be worth having a look at it if the group has it. mine has been a godsend at times!0 -
It might be worth emailing the leader as some do not hold books so you may not be able to buy extra books ie the points guide etc0
