1 chopped butternut squash,
1 chopped onion,
1 chopped red pepper,
4 carrots..2 sliced and 2 grated,
1 chopped parsnip,
2 stock cubes,
boiling water,
10mins in pressure cooker..
lovely and free....but not very thick..i like thick soup,i did end up blending it,any ideas how to thicken it now(without adding syns?)
Another time add less water to cook it all, I make soup initially by just steaming the vegetables, then add more liquid when blending. But for now, if it's not too late, didnt someone yesterday add tinned beans to soup & then blend, to make it not only thick but superspeed too! I'm going to do that with my next soup.
I had my lovely crab claws in Birmingham market, delicious. I'd taken 2 apples with me to eat on the train and a bag of ryvita minis (HEB) so I did ok. But I went into a big chinese supermarket to stock up and they had these "crisp broad beans" - oooh they are lovely. Contents are broad beans (85%), salt, garlic and erm... palm oil. teensy writing - 520 cals in 100g. I must have eaten at least 100g of the 200g bag. oooh but they are nice. I think they are even nicer than the Julian Graves broad beans.:jThat's 2 stone 9 lbs gone forever:j
thank you Slimming World!

My Mum took a lovely photo of my son and I and I sent it to hubby, he has just thoroughly upset me by saying he doesn't like it as to quote " You look ill" " You look like skeletor" nice to know he loves me isn't it :rotfl:
I think he's trying to fatten me up and if I don't gain this week it'll be a miracle. Yesterday he made a lovely curry [free] but bought big garlic naan breads and today he made mincemeat whirls from pastry [which are delish, ate 2 already]. Be glad when he gets a job then I get control of my evening meals back
.
Love him to bits and not really complaining [apart from his skeletor comment] as know I've gone too low but as I keep saying its not intentional. I put it down to all the stress.
Note to self - hide the big jar of peanut butter he bought .Its not what you do but the way that you do it, thats what get results :T

I'm sure your DH meant well with his 'skeleton' comment tie, but tact is obviously not his strongest point! My DH recoils in horror when I say I'm going to lose more. I'm only teasing him but he has visions of Victoria Beckham! (I wish:rotfl:). Perhaps it's a man thing???
WI for me today and I'm delighted to have lost a pound! So I'm heading into festive season under target just as I'd hoped. As long as I have 'good' days between the festive eating and drinking I should keep things under control.
Today I've had a SW breakfast but I've been out to a flexi Christmas lunch although probably not too bad. If I'm hungry later I'll have a JP. Oh and I had wine syns with lunch and may have more tonight:o0 -

hi all,
if its not personal a question, would some of you mind posting, or even PMing if you like, your weight and size...
why i ask is, i am having bother setting a final target weight
i started out SW at over 18 stone...and a size 22...:o:o:o
i initally said, i didnt care what weight i was, as long as i made a size 14.
on wednesday...for the first time in a year....i went clothes shopping...and was seriously shocked to find....i was fitting into a size 14
now, i know i could make a size 12...
but my problem is...i am a 14...and finding theres around a stone between sizes for me (i have lost 3 stone 8)
so i wanna be a 12...so i would have to loose a stone....maybe 21lbs for comfort...
but....the real problem is...i am 14.7 now...and even a stone an a half off that....leaves me 13 stone....
i never would have thought that size 12 and 13 stone was the same thing?
according to the SW chart....my max weight should be 11.11...but on the basis of my theory of 1 stone or so between sizes..that wud leave me an 8 / 10...which i dont want to be...
so i suppose...my question is....is there such a thing as an average weight...for an average size 12...
can anyone help?0 -
Piglet, isn't it more important how you feel and whether you l ike how you look when you accidentally catch sight of yourself in the mirror? I don't think any of us knows until we get there what that will be! I'm a 12 now and I am 10st 7. But then I am only 5 ft 3. Also a size 12 is different in different shops, and is so VERY different from a size 12 say, 20 years ago. I know that I need to be about half a stone lighter to feel good, and that makes me a loose 12. Except in Zara, where everything seems to be tiny.0

Piglet, isn't it more important how you feel.
totally....but im almost afraid to set a final target of say 12.7 stones...as i know this is still off the chart in SW...leaving me overweight...:o
i was a 14 in peacocks....and in new look...tho it was a wee bit of a tighter fit in new look i found..
i never would have even darkened the door of new look beforehand:o0 -
Piglet, there are so many variables when it comes to what is the 'right' weight/size. Obviously height is a factor and it depends where you buy your clothes. On top of that it depends on the styles you choose.
I started off as 13st 9.5lbs and a size 16. To be fair most 16s were getting tight and it was the awful thought of admitting to be an 18 that got me into SW. The size 16s were carefully chosen e.g. wide leg trousers, smocky tops etc. I'm now 10st 6lbs and a slim 12 but I am 5ft 9ins tall. That being said I still have 14s that fit well and even a few 10s. Generally (although not always) the cheaper clothes are small for their size because they keep fabric to a minimum but the style matters too.
You don't have to set a final target if you don't want to. You can just keep going until you're happy and then declare that as your target. I chose, as my target, the weight I'd been for most of my adult life. I have been lighter on occasion but I think as I'm older now I risk looking bony and gaunt (a la Mrs Beckham:rotfl:) if I lose much more.
My EE menu for today:
B: NAS squash, HEB porage, HEA milk plus teas, banana
L: beef stewchicken casserole with SW roasties and loads of veg
Syns: weekend wine:jtbsp syrup on porage0 -
there is an article in the mail online.
we are all 11st - and range from size 10 - 18 (seems to be dependent on height)
http://www.dailymail.co.uk/femail/article-2071870/The-average-weight-British-woman-comes-shapes.html
I started at SW at 12.5 - size 16, I was going to go into an 18 and that was what made me want to loose weight. I am now 11.2 - still size 16.
for me i want to be a clothes size 10-12. I don't care what weight i will be - so for now am aiming in the middle of the 'normal' section on the SW chart - which is 9.7
