Can I ask how you cook your polenta and is it syn free ? I have a bag in the cupboard which I keep meaning to try but never quite get around to it

I make my polenta with veg stock. 1 cup polenta to 2 cups stock and boil for about 10 mins then pour into a tray and leave to set. Cut into portions when cold and fry in frylight until crisp and golden. I find this amount does me 4/5 days.
As to whether polenta is free………there’s been debate about this in the past but earlier this year when I was a full member of SW I printed off an article from a section of the website called ‘Veg out! – Useful features - Slimming World’ and on there it says :-
“All of the following meat-free products are Free Food on Food Optimising’s Green and Extra Easy choices:
    · Pasta, rice and grains, couscous, polenta, bulgar wheat
    · Pulses including kidney beans, baked beans, chickpeas, lentils
    · Many dairy products and soya products like tofu, soya protein and quorn
    · Eggs
    · Most fruit and vegetables”
I printed it off to show my consultant who agreed with me that it is free so that’s my take on it.

    Hi Folks:hello:
Finished yesterday on 4 syns and used all my HE’s – Had courgette and leek frittata with SW chips and peas for tea!
I made a syn free scan bran carrot cake which was really quite nice ;) (recipe from Minimims) I replaced the carrot with courgette but next time I will use less sweetener.
Super Simple Extra Easy Speedy Syn-Free Carrot Cake
    INGREDIENTS
    · 5 scan bran or 55g scan bran sprinkles (HEB)
    · About 1 1/2 to 2 cups grated carrot (I used courgette)
    · two eggs
    · about 1 cup powdered sweetener
    · half teaspoon cinnamon
    · pinch salt
    · few drops vanilla essence

    METHOD

    1. Soften your scan bran (in a microwavable mixing bowl) with some hot water. Just enough to soften it - this is a moist cake and the less water you can do this with the better - scan bran sprinkles work best.
    2. Mix in the eggs, cinnamon, salt and vanilla. Mix really thoroughly.
    3. Mix in the sweetener.
    4. Mix in the carrot.
    5. Scrape off the sides of the bowl with a spatula and smooth the mixture down flat.
    6. Bung in the microwave and cook on full power for about 7 minutes (1000w microwave)

I topped it with sweetened Quark and a tiny drop of lemon juice

    Todays plan:-
B: Polenta and eggs, ketchup (1)
L: Huge salad, bulgar, quinoa and endame beans.
D: Freezer surprise tonight I think with courgettes and or broad beans
S: I’ve got cherries and bananas here and a huge pot of Onken FF yoghurt.

Dancing tonight so lots of Body Magic

Feeling really rubbish today, achey and tired:( Will have a quiet day on the sofa i think.

    I'm sure there's a link there guns, give your brain a rest!:rotfl:

EE for me today, as ever. Like MissPiggy said, if I come on here in the morning and write up my plan then I'm not tempted to eat rubbish. Plus seeing it written down often helps make adjustments like extra SFs when needed.

B: NAS squash, baked beans, HEB toast, HEA milk for teas
L: sardines on toast, pickled beetroot, cornichons
D: chicken jumbalaya with loads of veg
Snacks: fruit as none at BF
Syns: none as I'm out tomorrow to make up for it!

    Sorry, pressed button too soon:o

:Tto everyone with losses today. That's an amazing amount of Body Magic you're doing MrsM.

Someone asked for dynorod soup recipe: if you go to the first post on the thread, there's a link at the bottom to the recipes. The soup's there with lots of other delicious things.

Its great to ‘see’ you MrsM and to read your posts. The amount of body work you do is amazing. I am a bit confused at mo. I was going alone and lost 11lb in 4 weeks but I have been up and down like a yo-yo these past 3 weeks so reason to rejoin class!
OH says portion control is how to do it and I eat too much veg.
So my ans was wine control! (I like grapes). Reading all your menus makes me realise that everyone has diff appetites. The one thing in common is you are all losing weight.
My menu today is (feel free to jump in)

    B – 2 pints warm water/yog & kiwis
L – tin mackerel and salad (cheese hea) changed to veg soup all free
D – gammon and cabbage baked pot(heb) butter in cabbage 2syns
Sns – mugshot, kiwis tomatoes melon
And maybe ryvita(heb) and cot cheese

    Will add anything else later.

I don't want to seem like a nit picker and may have got the wrong end of the stick... so you may be having all your HE's after all (from your concern in a previous thread) Everything else look perfect to me I think. Plenty of food with lovely fruit and veggie.

Hi! Yes I had all my HEa+b's yesterday but only after the advice I'd been given. Wouldn't normally have had the rivita or cheese!

If this is EE then you have 2 HEBs but you don't need to HE the spud on EE. Oh and you can never have too much veg :D especially all the superfree stuff.
Its not what you do but the way that you do it, thats what get results :T
