    Hi All

Revisiting this forum after finally finding the thread (was having a senile moment, although not that old!).

Well, I would be interested in getting my account up and running on ebay to see if I can rise to the ebay challenge. However, I really do not know the best way to go about this. Perhaps I could ask a friend who knows about ebay to get my account under way or ask my father when he has time, etc?????

I have tried unsuccessfully to get the account going on my own but got caught in a 'loop' so to speak and wasn't able to progress further with setting up the account. Please can those more experienced ebayers advise me on the best way forward. I am also slightly anxious about the fees charged on ebay for various things although appreciate this is how ebay make their money (and why they are so successfull!) - can you still make this a viable part-time business concern allowing for the charges?

    Looking forward to your feedback

    Best wishes

Well dead chuffed that I have managed to sell an old mobile phone box for £4.99 plus postage - less than two days after listing! I would never have tried to sell this had I not read this thread.
:D Thanks to MSE, I am mortgage free!:D

Don't know if this will be of use to anyone, I discovered that beyblades are popular on e-bay. We have tried to sell them at carboots with no interest, sold 8 in abundle this week for £43, I thought we'd be lucky to get above fiver. We had 18 people watching the auction and it was only on for 5 days.

I managed to sell a part-used Christian Lacroix Noir after shave moisturiser for 20p at the carboot last week. I got rid because apparently it stings:eek:

Got rid of loads of horror DVDs for £1 each as well:j
  • My best ebay sell was a tin of metallic pencils that I bought from Poundland - they sold for £12 plus postage!!! Bought a few more next time but only got £6 each for them (still well worth it). Unfortunately Poundland have never had them in for over a year. It's amazing the things you can pick up in Poundland or Asda for next to nothing but then sell on for crafters, anything craft related tends to be horrendously over priced so crafters are normally fighting each other to win your items!

Thanks for the hint... I've actually been saving my perfume bottles hoping to sell them but as I've never seen empty ones on ebay I haven't bothered to try. Now I know it's possible maybe I can get rid of the dust collectors!!:j

I've used Mazuma in the past. Go through Quidco and get cashback. I've found they pay more than envirofone and pay out really quickly
