I always have a look to see if there's something else that i'm selling is on, I also have a look to see what they've sold for previously.

I have a little bottle of perfume, Eternity I think it is, that came free with something ages ago. I've never used it, but there seems to be quite a bit of that sort of thing on there not selling..

I'm trying to pay off my Christmas overdraft (£147 to go) by selling off anything I can find. My problem is that most of my stuff is already gone so I need to be even more creative about it. To that end I think I'll invest this afternoon in reading through from page 1 again. I sold off a few DVDs and CDs to musicmagpie and although I only got 30p each for them, when I looked at them on E-Bay they were struggling to make £1 a time with free postage. By the time I list them, e-bay have their 10%, Pay Pal take their slice and I buy a padded envelope and post the thing I rekon its about the same as I get with musicmagpie and no crazy buyers asking for refunds to wipe out the profits.

I do wonder how many oddments it will take me to reach my £147 target?
  • OMG - this is a brilliant thread, really inspired to have a good old sort now and have already listed 5 items on ebay as a result of reading this!! Feel the need to go through the house room by room now and do a 2012 House Audit and Clear out. Many thanks!!

Try Zagger. They're like music magpie but they take books too. Sent a big box of stuff that wouldn't sell and I should get a £65 cheque coming. They do courier collection if it's a big lot (71 items was mine)
    ** Total debt: £6950.82 ± May NSDs 1/10 **
    ** Fat Bum Shrinking: -7/56lbs **

I do it all because I'm scared.

I thought it was Zapper. They have been mentioned on the income board, I have personally used them twice, they don't tend to take the trashy type novels (good job I don't have many of them), but they take many other ones. Min Order 25.
  • In order to bump this up a bit, I thought I might mention that today we've had a 'baby-coming-inspired' sort out. We have finally listed the cross trainer that has been languishing in the back of our garage since we moved in 2008. Its been listed about 2 hours and we already have a watcher. Fingers crossed, this time next week, we'll have some space back! Although...it's got to get passed an MGF with a flat battery first. Thats a whole other story...

Handbrake off, stick it in neutral and push backwards. Have to do this with our Quattros after their hibernation period :o
  • This is a great thread! I have compiled a list while reading. I was interested that people collect old catalogues - I have about 12 years worth of ikea ones - what do you think, put them on as a job lot or separately (in case people just need the odd year to add to their collection?)
