    What's the worst that happens they don't sell and because they were put on for the free listing it doesn't cost anything. On the plus side a load of of pc games I had have gone to a friend who came round and saw my clear out!

    Total made £5.50 - items sold one so far
  • When you folks say 'short listing', how short is short?

    Blushing think if it this way, stick it on for free listing and that way someone pays for something you would throw out. Plus great spring clean before Christmas!

    One day is the shortest you can do.

    I've enjoyed reading through these pages of posts and have picked up some useful pointers and ideas.

    I've been TRYING to de-clutter for just over a year now on and off, just listing on ebay, 99p and free listing weekends, anything which we don't need/use any more. So far I raised about £1100 all from stuff that would otherwise have gone in the bin/charity shop/etc. I've sold around 150 items including old clothes, golf balls, computer games, books, and anything else that i can find. Most just sell for between 99p - £5 but some surprisingly sell for more including:

    A used Diesel wallet - £20 (after twice failing to sell for 99p!);
    A used bag/carry case for ghd straighteners - £25 (most others that were listed only sold for around £8!);
    A used pink cat bed - £25;
    4 Apple Mac stickers from the 90's - £8;
    old curtains - £30;
    2000 old used golf balls (found in our garage). Listed in small batches - about £300 in total;
    3 tools from an old dyson - £9.

    some things don't sell 1st time (or 2nd, 3rd, ..) but i'm convinced if you list somthing long enough there will be somebody who will want it (even an old Cornwall keyring). All of my 99p free listings are just set to auto re-list every time they don't sell which saves me time.

    also I keep track of all of the sales in my own spreadsheet - it tells me my profit, average profit, amount sold per month, etc - cos i'm a geek like that!

    Cheers guys
