This thread has got me motivated to list a few things, including 3 bottles of partly used perfume. They've only been on since lunchtime and one already has a watcher and there's a bid on another. :) I'm wondering whether to sell a couple of empty ipod boxes as well. :o

I sold a Third Generation Empty iPod Nano box yesterday for £7 including postage that was around a £1.

I did state that it wasn't an actual iPod etc to be clear and protect my ebay feedback.
  • Sold 2 GHD Hair straighteners both had stopped working as a job lot on ebay starting for 99p...

    They only went for £54

So started hunting around and also sold:

    old golf bag £15

Laptop with cracked screen cost new (£250) - £57

    Old electric frieplace - £65

MERRY CHRISTMAS and goodbye old junk!!!!
    I AM DEBT FREE 18/6/12
    SAVINGS = £10100

I've just seen a £10 Argos voucher go for £10.10. Can anyone explain that?

some people have paypal money they have earnt that they want to use without transferring to a bank account and declaring, so they use it to buy vouchers on ebay, hence they don't mind paying over the odds ;)

I found a dvd that had sold on ebay for £43 - well 2 actually sold this week, both for £43 - 1 single dvd, not a boxset or anything. I have 2. So I put one up for sale last night with a starting price of £9.99 - and I already have 2 bids on it. I stated in my listing that it was selling on Amazon for over £50.

In the past 10 days i've made over £60. I sold 3 bottles of partly used perfume. One went for over £23, another for £16 and a third for just under a fiver. I've still not listed the phone or the ipod boxes though. My son won't let me sell his nano one though as he said he might need it! I've also listed eyeshadows that haven't been used. My daughter got them in a present and she doesn't wear eyeshadow. I've already got 3 watchers. I've seen the same sell for £14. I will give her the money though (less the fees of course!) - i'm not selling their stuff from under them so don't worry. :D

I think after reading this might have to go "audit" the house and get some selling! Box set of movies! Empty bottles. Mind is going ten to the dozen!

I LOVE the concept of a 'house audit'. lol! Let us know how you get on.

One great tip I can give you for general decluttering...take photos of your rooms, work surfaces etc....then look at them on your computer. It's amazing how different it makes everything look...if you're anything like me, you become immune to the clutter after a while and sort of don't see it anymore! But you always see it on a photo. So maybe it will help you spot stuff? x

Husband thinks I'm mad but wondering round the house and being really cynical muttering to myself. So far about 8 pairs of jeans which are size 10. I'm only one size off but been trying to get back in them for 8 months. A big box of DVD in the garage. A ton of kids computer games (lets be honest if you have an r4 card why keep the originals, though may have to split the profits there), empty perfume bottles, box sets which I've never watched and don't think I will ever watch. A lot of computer games that I never play anymore! Empty perfume bottles, books. Wedding tiara. Size 5 shoes worn by niece to wedding two years ago!

Think the above comment is perfect, I have become immune to it! Its quite scary as its spurring me on this de-clutter my house to sort my life out, off to see the stop smoking clinic on Tuesday (attend the clinic free prescription.)

Honestly getting slightly worried stood in the shower last night compiling the list!

What has this thread done to me!

Please please do this. My friend smoked like a chimney, and just died at the age of 48, only 5 weeks after he received his diagnosis - pancreatic and liver cancer.

Giving up is the single best thing you can do for your health. :T

Well done on the decluttering also - my OH thinks I am mad too! xx

If anyone has an empty ipod touch box it might be worth listing it just now. I'm a numpty and put one on for a listing of 7 days, with no buy it now price. Now i'm being asked if I have a buy it now price but can't change the listing as I already have a bid on it. Someone offered me £5 plus p&p for it and I would've accepted. So if anyone is wanting to list one, put it on for a short auction and with a buy it now price as people will be wanting them if they've bought an ipod as a Christmas present for someone and it doesn't have a box.

Get listing people and good luck!

Managed to sell it after all. It was for a man who had bought his daughter one for Christmas and just wanted the box to finish it off.

I also had someone ask if I had a buy it now for some eyeshadows last night, and got £10 - both auctions ended 5 and 6 days early. I didn't know what to ask for either item so asked them to make me an offer - and I thought both were fair offers. I might've got a bit more if i'd let the auction run or put a higher buy it now price, but I also might have left it too late for Christmas and the bids might not have materialised or got past 99p!
