My friend loves charity shops and vintage clothes. She started selling her wardrobe overspill on Ebay and to cut a long story short now has a business selling clothes she buys from China on Ebay.

I'm not so good. I once sold a book on Amazon and totally miscalculated the postage and ended up out of pocket :o But this thread has inspired me to have a go at Ebay. I have a house full of junk that's just dying to find a nice new home :D

It's odd how the things you think might sell don't but the weird old tat does. I listed 3 rusty old iron keys as '3 rusty old iron keys' and got £3.50 for them! Honesty pays but a spot of deviousness sometimes helps. I couldn't sell my Kenwood juicer so I listed the juicing recipe book I'd bought 'with free juicer' and have just got shot of it!

Have noticed how much the meerkat toys are going for on ebay, not bad considering you get them for free!
As a newbie I can't include the link but one of the meerkat toys is going for £225 on ebay!

If only my car insurance was due :(

Okay random things I've sold this week:

    - An old tv stand
    - Nintendo world magazine
    - Really old and sewn up mr blobby soft toy
    - 1 single little toy car
    - Halloween witches hat

And an electric wheelcahir but half the profits of that are going to the charity I used to work for

Oh before I go, Ebay is a very strange place at times...I bought a BNWT (brand new with tags) Party dress for my daughter for 7 pounds. She wore it to a few parties and then, as they do, she out grew it...put it back on Ebay as used party dress in vgc (very good condition) stared at 99p...bidding war started and I ended up with 28 quid plus 2 pound P&P ....:-)

We had an old electric blanket that hadn’t been stored properly and so we decided not to risk using it. However it had detachable power leads and after I looked up their codes there appeared to be a market for them – one bidding war and £22 later, I now know from the very happy buyer that there‘s a known fault with them, whereby the timer element fails, and the manufacturer will not replace or repair.

I believe this has already been raised on this thread time and time again, but the lesson is .... however unlikely it might seem that something has value, always check before giving it away or throwing it out!
