territory is all allocated online, so roads someone already does can't be allocated twice. I would explain to the people that you have just started and been given these roads, so the previous rep they had must have stopped. (people need to be innactive for 2 campaigns for them to lose their territory - so they prob won't have had a book for at least 6 weeks. Double check that. Or it could be that the previous rep has stopped doing territory but hung onto a few customers from those roads. If you find out the people that still order from the old rep, just don't give them a book (this is where your calling book comes in very handy) and focus on the rest of the people. The ones that you miss out, could be worth you giving them a business card with your phone number on so if the other rep stops they can contact you instead.Avon Sales Leader in North Kent Since July 20110

Thanks, the lasy said she has just ordered from him. I explained I was allocated this road and that's it. I'll see if I get any orders when I go back to collect.
I just did the rest of the streets I was allocated - not good either, most of them are industrial buildings/businesses or blocks of flats with secure entrances. SOme have allies leading through dark corridors to the back flats - not a place to be in the evening.
I will give it a go and if it's not good (as it already seems to be the case) I will ask for another area.0 -
did you try popping into the businesses and seeing if they get a book? Can be a good way to reach a lot of people with one book! Banks are good earners for me.Avon Sales Leader in North Kent Since July 20110

Ok, have just signed up. But the area manager was so confident I can deal with it that she talked me into becoming SL - I don't have a problem with it cos I did Avon before and I know I can do it. It's just that there is only 10 days in this campain so how the heck I'm going to find 6 people to sign up? Maybe I will. If not then tough.
She also gave me 3 rather crapy streets where I can't park - it's all main busy streets with small flats so may not be that good for business but who knows, again. The 4th street is ok and I did it all straight away and when I got to very last few houses someone came out and told me that there is already a man who does it! So i've wasted nearly 50 books, not a happy bunny today:mad:
I wasnt taken on by the area manager but by another SL, she tried to talk me into being a SL too, tbh I think it will be very hard to find 6 people in such a short time as you havent got much time to network. I advised I want to do SL, but I want to spend 4 - 5 campaigns building up my own area and customers and then start to recruit as it will be easier that way (like you I did Avon before very successfuly but in a different area).
Re the streets allocated, mine were alocated by the SL as i said rather than AM, but she wasnt sure which ones where free, she advised I just try them and if they seem free they are mine. I did ask her to check with the AM as I dont want to spend any time on streets I cant keep.
Excited to pick up my books tomorrow from my first drop :j already have 5 orders and would like to think out of 56 or whatever books it was I put out I will get another 5 minimum?
And I agree with DON79, totally worth going into businesses - good luck!0 -
Hello ladies (and any gents
) I have a query from a potential customer who's a friend and about as useful as a chocolate teapot :rotfl:He needs an exfoliating facial scrub and all he can tell me is its in a tube! :rotfl:He works in a very dirty environment and sweats A LOT due to the working conditions so he needs something really good as he says he currently looks like a pepporoni pizza
I was going to suggest the clearskin 3-in-1 but thought that might be a bit 'girly', or the clearskin professional range. But I was wondering if there is something in the blokes range that you can suggest. I don't have any regular male customers so I have no idea as all they order is aftershave and showergel
Thank you
C16 is not so good for me, before my books etc I'm <£200 which is my worst campaign yetHoping they'll pull out all the stops on C17, I'll also be canvassing some streets I haven't covered yet. There's a high number of student houses here so I didn't want to be wasting my time/money on putting books through on new roads when the houses were likely to be empty
I guess I better have a look through the books for myself this time, although I will avoid spending another £100 I thinkCreeping back in for accountability after falling off the wagon in 2016.Need to get back to old style in modern ways, watching the pennies and getting stuff done!0 -
you don't need to get that many people in your first campaign - but obviously the sooner you get them - the sooner you'll qualify and earn - take a couple of campaigns if you need it. 1 addition a day isn't too much work, and as many days as you can commit to Sales Leadership.Avon Sales Leader in North Kent Since July 20110

Hello and thanks again.
I know businesses could potentially be good but I have only time to go out in the evenings when they are closed. In a daytime I am burried in books and trying to write up my doctoral thesis - that is after dropping my child off at the nursaery.
Yes, I am a bit annoyed with myself that I managed to talk myself into trainee SL - although AM said she will help me in the first instance.
Oh well :-(
I live half of my week in my place and then weekend at my b/f's who lives in a much nicer area - I wanted to deliver there but it was outside her area so she couldn't allocate.
Is there a place where I could read about all the things I can claim for being self-employed?
Thanks and off to bed finally :j0 -
i am seeing my accountant for the first time tomorrow, so can hopefully help with a list of things you can claim for then. He's a friend (but not too close that a business relationship will be impossible) who lost his job cos of the recession... so perfect atm as it'll be doing us both a favourAvon Sales Leader in North Kent Since July 20110

The woman was really nicebut for some reason the online system wouldn't let me register - it wouldn't accept my date of birth
hopefully will get that sorted out tomorrow.
