Paying tax on your Avon while also in employment - if you end up having to pay tax on your Avon earnings you'll pay 20% of your Avon net profit to the taxman. Net profit is after expenses so claim for every one you legally can.

Whether you earn £50 from your Avon or £500 you'll still be taxed at the same rate of 20% - unless you somehow ended up going over into the higher rate tax band but that most likely won't apply to anyone here.
I used to have my Avon turnover (sales) here. They've been removed because it's not appropriate to talk about those kinds of sales as if they're realistic for a new Rep to aim for. :( I signed up at the right time, right place, and was very lucky.

Just a quick question, I'm meeting up with the leader today at 4:30 so she can sign me up, will I need to pay her today? And if so, how much?

Thank you, thank you very much. I need to now find out about every little thing I can claim. Any ideas appreciated. What do you ladies claim? (and gents if there is any lol).

I posted on benefits site re calculating hours and tax but no luck with responses.

SL is coming today to sign me up so she will be bombarded with questions! lol
Looks like I may be starting tomorrow :-)
  • slm6002 - well done on the new customers! Great extra bonus for you towards Christmas :D

IGeek, thanks for the clarification on tax payments, which reminds me, I need to ring up to sign as self employed today or tomorrow. I will of course be using ANYTHING I can deduct from my profits and keeping the receipts :)

Day 2 since starting Avon and had somebody ask for some books to leave in the school they work in, great for me as I wanted to get my books into the school as they have about 30 female teachers. I had thought of offering 10% commission to the school fund for the new play area in order to get my books in... but if somebody wants to bring them for me without me having to do that hurrah!!

thanks for the comments - i didnt recanvas but i was given a new road eventually and this got a lot of my new customers, but not all of them. With the older streets, unless i actually am told 'no more books' i keep going, and it has paid off. I guess they think as i am obviously not going to disappear like many previous reps, they can trust i will actually turn up with products (avon stock willing!) when i say i will. Very happy :)

:wave:Hi all, been neglecting this board for a while but still keeping up with everyone. I have a question if anyone can help. A customer has just what size the rotating advent tree is in C17 and I cant find it anywhere. Ive looked in HT and online but only c15 is showing there. To be fair my order doesnt go in til next month as Im off on hols in a week and missing out 16, but this is prob my best customer and I really want to find out for her. Thanks everyone

just had a good old hunt & found it in C18 page 204, £5, code 14282. You could just pop the code into an order for an earlier campaign to see if it's there.

Thanks for looking:). I'll give it a go! If not i'll have to wait.

Ok, have just signed up. But the area manager was so confident I can deal with it that she talked me into becoming SL - I don't have a problem with it cos I did Avon before and I know I can do it. It's just that there is only 10 days in this campain so how the heck I'm going to find 6 people to sign up? Maybe I will. If not then tough.

She also gave me 3 rather crapy streets where I can't park - it's all main busy streets with small flats so may not be that good for business but who knows, again. The 4th street is ok and I did it all straight away and when I got to very last few houses someone came out and told me that there is already a man who does it! So i've wasted nearly 50 books, not a happy bunny today:mad:
