Following the first meeting with my accountant:

I've been told you can claim for petrol/bus fares; Stationary; Phone & internet (don't need to be on a business contract, and can break down the percentage of what you use for work and personal and claim the percentage for work), advertising, etc. Tax return just asks for an amount under several headings, but keep receipts safe in case you get a visit. Much better to give them a huge box of paperwork when they arrive to back up your claim, than not have enough.

Also = £6,000 per year is what you can earn before you pay tax - breaks down to £333.33 per campaign includes any tax credits you get. After that it's 20% tax, and you pay in arrears, so although it is a nice idea to put money aside each month to pay the tax bill, you can pay it back in 2 lump sums 9 months and another 6 months later.

Sent my OH off to work this morning with a book and some order forms and someone's made an order of £20, my first!

I have another question

Avon finally just let me register online with no problems. But now I see it says that the next order is due by the 12th, whereas the woman said she wasn't coming back to see me until the 13th to do the orders. Should I contact her about this? I don't want to miss putting the orders in.

Are we able to link to blogs on here? Or does that count as a business advertisement? I've just set up an Avon blog on blogger and put it into my profile. Hoping to try and get some followers for it next week when I have some free time (away to London for the weekend to see some friends).

And why is it today when I need to go pick up my books... its tipping it down? Thats just unfair lol

Do all orders go in on different days? Because I was told mine need to be in by the 17th?

And well done on the OH getting an order :j ... perhaps when you become a SL you can recruit him hehe

Hmm, I'm not sure, maybe they do! My Avon just has this written at the top:

C16
Area 461
is due by 22:00 GMT on WED,12/10/2011 6 days left

Also, where can I download a brochure from? Got some family living far away that'd be interested in ordering through me and I said I'd email them a brochure, but now I can't even find one to download!

avon has broken the country up into different mail plans, so there are different delivery days. I have a campaign 16 order due tomorrow, i'm an early mail plan, so others can be almost 3 weeks after me.

So that means my order has to be in by the 12th or I miss out on this campaign?
