Thanks for your reply joyfull, I'm pleased it wasn't just me! I'll give it another go shortly and if I get no joy I'll email Avon.
I have another question, although having been doing Avon a year now I supposed I should know the answer! If for example I have to pay Avon £150 but I have £23 worth of goods to send back do I deduct this from the money I pay Avon so theoretically I'd then be paying them £127.
This would then reduce the amount you earn so then you'd have to then deduct this cost from the 'amount you earn'. Which seems a bit of a faff.
Up until today I've always paid avon the full amount shown on the invoice and got them to sort out the credit (checking they have of course) and then paid the money I earned as shown on the invoice. For tax return purposes I always thought this was easier.
Can anyone tell me which is the easiest method ie...paying exactly as said on the invoice OR working it out so you only pay what you've earned.
Thanks in advance
I've always paid the full amount without deducting the cost of my current returns. For me it's having the peace of mind knowing there could never be any issue Avon's end with 'holding' the order because I'd miscalculated & owed 2p. Not saying it would happen & I know others do deduct their credits & it probably works out fine. For me it's the easiest & least hassle."Sometimes letting things go is an act of far greater power than defending or hanging on.”0 -
Hi Joyfull, thanks again for your reply.
I think I'll stick to what I'm already doing, ie paying the full amount and just checking that Avon are crediting me properly. Likewise I had the same thoughts about owing Avon 2p if I got the calculations wrong and it causing 'problems'.
Anything for an easy life me0 -
Hello,
I have finally after some deliberation hit a submit button and will become a rep soon.
Can someone answer my questions pleae?
How do you record your hours for tax credits purposes when with Avon? Do you average them somehow? How much tax etc would I have to pay when I am already employed? And what about NI contribution? I would be grateful for your advice.
many thanks0 -
I guess how much tax would depend on how much you earn as a rep? I.e if you have £50 profit a campaign it will be nominal, if you earn £500 a campaign it will be a lot more. How many hours you work, again I would work these out normally tbh. Its likely only to be a few extra hours a week unless your trying to make it a main job.0

Thank you LilMissEmmylou. I supposeI haven't expressmyself clearly.
I am employed but short of hours. I worked up to now 16 hrs which is a minimum for a single parent to get working tax credit. I depend on credits as they pay a lot towards my daughter's nursery. The rest of the week I work on my doctoral thesis.
Now job'scoming to an end and another one I have is only 7,5 hrs a week.
Unfortunately I have to ring tax credits as soon as my conditions change - my current job will come to an end on 24th October and when I ring I have to tell them how many hours I am doing now.
Do I just come up with a figure and then correct later- because atm I don't know how much time Avon will take.
And what about NI contribution and other things that I assume I would have to pay as self-employed.
Many thanks0 -

Avon are bound by the distance selling regulations.
Which means legally the customer has statutory rights to return items.0 -
Can anyone remember when your online invoice becomes viewable? My order is due for delivery on Thursday - when I click on the invoice, which says prepared, it just brings up a blank page - was expecting to view it by now.

I'm not knowledgable enough to respond to this one, but there are a couple of experienced SL's who are on holiday at the moment (Lozza & MarsdenCuckoo - we're missing you). If you can be patient, I'm sure they might be able to advise. Alternatively, post this in a general section of the forum as it must be a common problem faced with work of this nature.
Now proud Mumto3 :j0
