IIRC, Avon did for a very brief time advertise this as a mozzie repellant.
As lisyloo says it's the Soft & Fresh Dry Oil spray.
I have a booklet sent to me by Thomson Holidays in 1996 which says that it's good for mozzie repellant.
That was when the formula was different and it was called 'bath oil spray' and was very greasy.
I wouldn't use it as my sole mozzie protection.
I use after sun which has mosquito repellant in, then the Avon SSS, then a proper repellant (I prefer Autan Tropical).0 -
Good afternoon ladies, hello to all the Avon newbies
I'm just putting on some replacement items on the Avon site but every time I select 'Save' it comes up with a box saying 'not all replacements have been saved, please verify'. Has anyone else had this problem or is it a glitch Avon's end?
Thanks in advance for any help / advice0 -

last week there was definitely a problem with putting orders in, & then not being able to see what had been saved. When I logged out and re-logged in it seemed to clear itself. I know many other on connects were having probs too. You could email avon (I did & got advice on How To Put An Order In With Avon (Oh, I didn't know that!!!) By that time problem seemed solved). Good luck, it won't be just you, but may need a weekday to get sorted!

Hello everyone,
A few more questions before I decide (or not) to join in.
I am considering AVON yet again as my teaching contracts at the universtity got messed up and I need 16hrs a week to see me through to the end of my PhD (which hopefully will be June).
I am going to have one employment teaching on 0.2fte (7,5hrs) and I also have a weekend job (this never gives me more than 8hrs) so I am still too short of hours.
How do you record your hours for tax credits purposes when with Avon? Do yuo average them somehow? How much tax etc would I have to pay when I am already employed? And what about NI contribution? I would be grateful for your advice.

Sorry one more - started entering my details and read through terms and conditions. It does say I have 14 days to cancel the agreement so it sounds as if I am subscribing to Avon now, not when somebody comes round to me to signe me up? Am I obliged to pay £15 admin fee if I hit the submit button?
I'm still not completely decided mainly due to market saturation. I don't even know whether my home area is covered. Is there a way to find out?0 -
No you are not. If you read the full t&c's it says you will NOT pay anything until after you place your first order. I.e if u change ur mind and never order... you dont pay the admin fee
Im excited that the rep is coming around tomorrow to get me all signed up. She only has 20 books for me for this campaign which I feel a little grr over, but shes offered me 40 of her old ones so I can back order from them too which is good at least as it will start me up with 60 books. No idea if she will have a list of streets to send me to or not yet, hoping she does though so I can get started tomorrow night and start bringing in the money
Looking through the current book online and some really lovely items! Going to order a load of the gift sets and hello kitty sets etc to get a wee stall or car boot to go and sell them at next month

Hello all!
Was just about to put together a spreadsheet to keep track of things, the calling book is rubbish! Just wondered if anyone else had one I might be able to take a peek at for inspiration?
Cheers.0 -
Lambo, the calling book is rubbish when ur canvassing the first lot of houses - I would wait until u have found those that WANT books, it works great then0

Thanks for your reply joyfull, I'm pleased it wasn't just me! I'll give it another go shortly and if I get no joy I'll email Avon.
I have another question, although having been doing Avon a year now I supposed I should know the answer! If for example I have to pay Avon £150 but I have £23 worth of goods to send back do I deduct this from the money I pay Avon so theoretically I'd then be paying them £127.
This would then reduce the amount you earn so then you'd have to then deduct this cost from the 'amount you earn'. Which seems a bit of a faff.
Up until today I've always paid avon the full amount shown on the invoice and got them to sort out the credit (checking they have of course) and then paid the money I earned as shown on the invoice. For tax return purposes I always thought this was easier.
Can anyone tell me which is the easiest method ie...paying exactly as said on the invoice OR working it out so you only pay what you've earned.
Thanks in advance0 -
What does anybody make of the Manic Monday offers? I'm not sure how I can use it to boost my sales, does anybody have any ideas?
