Still waiting on my bloody delivery!!My Debt Free Diary
http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showthread.php?t=54153460 -
i hope your delivery comes soon - it is very frustrating.
I deliver mon pm and collect wed am, then deliver again wed pm collect fri am, and again deliver fri pm and collect this round mon am. This way i get round everyone as i give everyone books as long as they did not say no on my first few rounds. I only loose a few books and have quite a good number of orders each time. this is just my way, but i am sure we all do it differentlyMe, DD1 19, DS 17, DD2 14, Debt Free 04/18, Single Mum since 11/19

Hi everyone
I'm looking into becoming an avon rep, so thought I'd pop in here first! At the moment I'm only doing 20-30 hours a week at my job, so I thought this might be a good way to make some extra money as it could be quite flexible if I should start getting more hours at work. I've thought about doing it in the past, but after reading about it, it all sounded a bit confusing! So I've spent this evening reading through the thread on here and watching some vlogs on youtube, and I think I understand it all nowThink I'll be signing up tomorrow. Nice to meet you all

Length of time to leave books - forgot to mention before, but generally as long as you find a routine that works for you/your customers (i.e. evening collections are good if most of your round works 9-5, but if that's impossible for you, just do whatever suits) your customers will get used to it. In the example above you could mention on a note you call during the day, so please leave books out on way to work. If this is how you do it every time regulars will get into a routine. And if they forget always leave your contact details.
If you left a book for 2 days one time, then 2 weeks the next, then a week the next, then 3 days - customers would be confused - but if you work out a pattern that fits around your routine and how many books you want to order they should be fine with it.I used to have my Avon turnover (sales) here. They've been removed because it's not appropriate to talk about those kinds of sales as if they're realistic for a new Rep to aim for.I signed up at the right time, right place, and was very lucky.

So after waiting in for 2 days with absolutely no idea when my delivery would come - the doorbell goes at 7.45am today.
At least it means I can go out today, but I still feel like I should have more than a generic apology email and a £2 credit for my 3 phonecalls. My Debt Free Diary

Doing my tax return and I don't under stand what
Annual Investment Allowance
Allowance for small balance of unrelieved expenditure
Other capital allowances
Total balancing charges - where you have disposed of items for more than their value
Mean? I've downloaded the notes but they mean nothing to my confused pregnant headCan anyone advise me on a user friendly guide or explain what they mean?

If I remember rightly, all the things you mention are to do with Capital Allowances. These are bigger expenses, and someone on Connects put it well when she said: if I buy something and it's going to last longer than a tax year I class it as a capital expense, and if I'm going to have to buy a new one before then it's a normal expense. She said she went through mobile phones really quickly so she put them as a normal expense, although for many of us a mobile (bought outright, not on contract) would last for longer than a year.
You can ring HMRC when you've got those sections on screen and they'll explain what to do.
I didn't have any Capital Expenses for my Avon.I used to have my Avon turnover (sales) here. They've been removed because it's not appropriate to talk about those kinds of sales as if they're realistic for a new Rep to aim for.I signed up at the right time, right place, and was very lucky.

There's a sale book with C17, but your SL mustn't have enough to give out. It's probably a blessing seeing as there have been some stock issues with the C15 sale book and products in there are still being sold in the C17 one. I've decided not to hand mine out - there are still great offers on gift sets and whatnot in the main brochure. TBH I've never found the sales books that cheap - maybe a handful of items, but otherwise the reductions aren't that great. They're reduced compared to their full price, but items in the main brochure are often on offer as well.I used to have my Avon turnover (sales) here.
