No cheques have to be processed by the rep (ie into your bank account), and as IG says it carries risks - if the cheque bounces and you can't get the products back from them then you'll be out of pocket.

Thank you! Unfortunately Avon has been clear that their reps are self employed, and that they cannot help.

I had a really bad experience on a neighbours doorstep the other day, I really didn't expect to get a mouthful of abuse from an Avon rep for merely existing! Am wondering of they were in fact an Avon rep as they said they were as the have been a spate of door to door incidents locally, but was disappointed that Avon HO couldn't even confirm whether this individual worked for Avon or not.

It's now a police matter.

I got my first order today £18 from my little sisters friend, especially exciting as she didn't think they would be doing anything as her mum used to do Avon so they have quite a stock but turns out they are running out of the basics, bubble bath, shower gel, so might be some on going orders there for me too . Another of her friends has also told us she has quite a list but is taking the book over to her grandma before they order.

However also a little disheartened, the lass who used to be our Avon rep was someone I went to school with but she was really not very good we were getting very disappointed how she was handling things before she stopped bringing books to us... We'll she stopped a year or so ago... I was just on Avon Connects browsing people added to our SL group, and guess what there she is singed up 2 days before I did! Feel like this just turned into an uphill battle... planning on printing out some posters and popping them in the shop window and hope she hasn't thought of that already. Definitely going to keep them there though for when she starts messing about her customers again .But she is sly and underhanded (I'm not really that mean and we were friends honestly its only the benefit of now being 24 rather than 16 that allows me to see quite how she really is) and I'm fully expecting to lose books and order forms if she sees any out and she will make a massive fuss if finds out that someone is ordering from me over her damn village life! She doesn't even live here her mum does...

Urgh sorry I needed a little rant...

But can you back order on your first order?

Hi sorry if this appears in the wrong place?!

We are having a bad time financially at the min and I'm trying to build up my AVON business alongside my other job to try to dig us out of a hole and make things better for the future. It's been a horrendous week and to be honest my avon is what's kept me going, I love doing it!

I've just started as a trainee sales leader. My upper is amazing and passes new leads to me which I know benefits her too but still. I've been going about two weeks and will have 8 reps by tomorrow :j

I'm not expecting miraculous earnings just yet but in a year or to I'd like to be making good money. I know my boss and hers tell me they do but I just wonder what other people's experience is?

Hello everyone!
I went out re canvassing a street that I've just taken over from a rep who's given up, it was all going well till I practically got chased down the street by one person I'd posted a book to. She was well stroppy and had a right go, her English was very very poor too which didn't help either. Won't be posting there again!
Ahh some people need to learn some manners!!!!
Ok rant over.

Pixitotts - don't forget to protect your territory and report any rep immediately if you spot their brochures or suspect they're being lifted. When you speak to people at the door, let them know that they'll only ever deal with you and no-one else (in a way that comes across as "This is a good thing for you", which it is!). If they seem keen/chatty you can ask those ones to let you know if anyone else calls - you'll appreciate the heads-up, etc...

I've no doubt the other rep won't last past new year.

It's unlikely she'll be allocated streets in the village if she doesn't live there, unless she signed up in her mum's name which is dodgy in itself.

If you think brochures are being stolen, put big clear notes in with the books saying to leave them inside and you'll knock for them. You could even put your photo on the note saying only to hand it over to you.

Sorry about all the questions! but just [STRIKE]one[/STRIKE] two more... ( well until I try and place my first order later can't promise there wont be more then :A) ...

I've just done the registering as self employed thingy whatsit... and printed off the form about not earning enough to pay national insurance... is there anything else governmenty I should be doing?

And second one...looking at the brochure order bit if I order C17 and 18 brochures now will they both come in my delivery at the end of the week? I really want to look through them!! So excited about the Christmas stuff! ( I looked online but it just isn't the same I like paper ...). Oh damnit make that 3 questions, my second lot of free brochures how do they get to me?

Sorry about all those I'm a person with too much time on their hands, means more more and more questions pop into my head I do try and google/ search avon connects first but don't always help
This thread has become my bed time reading I'm on page 50... so I hope I'm not asking questions which have been asked over and over again...

Unanswer to your question 1 lol: I have yet to register self employed as most i know that do avon have not either but getting a bit worried about not registering so any tips you have on that im sure would be appreciated by all not just me as I really dont know what to do even though my husband is self employed himself so I really should have a clue on this subject. Maybe I should just pay more attention.

Answer to question 2: If you order both your campaigns now then yes they will arrive in your next delivery.

Answer to question 3: My FREE brochures came from my SL so if 17 or 18 should be free to you then DONT order them speak to your SL asap and ask her/him to drop it to you in time for your delivery.

I love this thread to and i find the more questions others ask the more info everyone gets and even stuff i never thought about before i read and think "ah thats a good idea" or "oh will have to do that nxt time" so questions are good for all especially those who feel unable to ask.

The registering as self employed is really simple, mostly just asks for personal information, how long you've lived in UK, and what you will be doing ( I literally just said "Avon" lol) and that you won't be going into construction not sure why that has is of importance but its ok I'm not going to start building structures from Lipsticks!

Ah I see thankyou so for me 16 is next those should come from SL, so I'm going to order 17 and 18 because I can't wait ... oh on that one too... is 17 just highlighted red because they recommend you order in advance? Or is it something else :S
