I have a FB set up for my Avon but not one that you can 'like', so I'd need to set up another FB account wouldn't I with a new page?
It sounds like what you have isn't a Page. All you need to do is:
1. Create a Facebook Profile - this is about you as an individual and everyone needs one of these before they can do other things on FB. However, you don't have to use FB as your Profile (i.e. as yourself) if you don't want to. I never do. If you already have a Profile you don't need to create a new one. In fact, FB would discourage people from doing that because there's only 1 of you!
2. When you're logged into Facebook, visit this page: https://www.facebook.com/pages/create/ Choose the type of business most relevant to your Avon. "Local business or place" would be a good choice. Then just follow the steps to create your business page.
3. Then, whenever you're on FB and in "business promotion mode", make sure you're using FB as your business page, as opposed to using FB as yourself. Here's how to do that: https://www.facebook.com/help/168135343245607I used to have my Avon turnover (sales) here. They've been removed because it's not appropriate to talk about those kinds of sales as if they're realistic for a new Rep to aim for.I signed up at the right time, right place, and was very lucky.

Hello all
I joined up as a rep a few days ago, I managed to join right at the end of the campaign which is annoying I wish they had just suggested I waited few extra days, means I have hardly any orders this timebut oh well...
I am so glad that this thread is here seen some really useful stuff, like I didn't know I had to register as self employed!
And thankyou I,Geek for the above post really handy...
I was wondering if anyone would send me a link to have a look at their facebook page for a bit of guidance what to put on there and what not please?
I was also hoping for some opinions on this... I joined to do F+F but was planning on taking my Gran on a little outing and visiting her friends and asking if they would like to look at the brochure, however I know they used to order from a lady who was also a member of WI but she left that and we don't know that she still does Avon even (were talking a year or so ago it was last mentioned that she did). But at the same time I don't want to go treading on any toes, and feel especially bad about it as I am the granddaughter of two of the longest residing families in the village so everyone knows my family well and I'd hate if she still does it for her to think I'm stealing her customers...
Or just send a couple of books to WI (though my grans the president of the local one of those too so not sure that's much better) and see what comes of it that way?
Sorry if that made little or no sense I shouldnt type long things at stupid o'clock. But Hello and Thankyou

There's no problem with asking. You could always make it clear to your grandma's that if they're loyal to their rep and want to stay with her (if she's still going) that's fine - you're not putting pressure on them. But it's only natural they'd want to support you even if their rep is still around.
For Facebook advice I really rate this site (this is not an affiliate link and I'm not connected to this person at all): http://lkrsocialmedia.com/?s=facebook That link is the search results for all blog posts to do with Facebook. Some will be more relevant to direct selling than others. She also has videos on Youtube: click hereI used to have my Avon turnover (sales) here. Have read the first post and have a much better idea of how Avon reps work.
However they are essentially free agents, which means that Avon will not address any questions about conduct. Any support before I go into a rant about a recent experience?Value-for-money-for-me-puhleeze!

I'm new to the whole Avon thing but if a rep wasn't doing things in an appropriate manner they would have to address the issue in some way or they would get a bad name... Avon reps have to hold an account with Avon and as the name says Represent them.I hope you know your capable, & brave, & significant.

Reporting a Rep
Without knowing what's happened (feel free to rant, we won't take it personally), here's a few things you could do:
- Contact Avon direct. Here's their HO address and phone number: Avon Cosmetics Ltd
Nunn Mills Rd
Northampton
Northamptonshire
NN1 5PA
Tel: 01604 232425
- Contact your local Trading Standards Office. Your complaint would be with the rep themselves, not Avon, seeing as the rep is self-employed. Even if it's to do with a faulty/poor quality product, that's very easily resolved by the rep so they should have no problem sorting that out for you.
- If you think you're owed money by the rep, again you could take them personally to small claims court.
The Citizens' Advice Bureau should be able to guide you in the right direction if you think you're going to have to go to an organisation like Trading Standards or take them to court.
Sorry to hear you've had a bad experience. Unfortunately I know dubious practices are used by some (I stress some) uplines, including those ones employed by Avon who have no excuse not to know better.
Again, if you let us know what's happened we might be able to come up with other ways to sort it out.I used to have my Avon turnover (sales) here. Could someone tell me if a customer can pay by cheque, some of my customers are making large orders and givig me cheques which i put in my own bank account then get the cash out and pay my balance at the po.0
-
It's fine to accept cheques, just be aware that there's some risk to you because it could bounce. Even if the customer hasn't done it on purpose to rip you off, there's extra work now for you to go round to their house and get the order back and process the return.
If an order's large (over £40 - not that I sniff at £30-odd and £20-odd orders!) I always remind people before delivery that it has to be cash, and I always say something like, "To give you a chance to get cash out because I know I rarely had larger amounts of cash on me before I started doing Avon."I used to have my Avon turnover (sales) here. They've been removed because it's not appropriate to talk about those kinds of sales as if they're realistic for a new Rep to aim for.I signed up at the right time, right place, and was very lucky.
