Yeh could be, we're mail plan K so not that early. I'm just hoping its not going to be as bad at Christmas products as it was last year, that was terrible, I had nearly a £100 worth arrive in January that was ordered in November so it all got sent back. Thankfully we got products from other sl/eBay so our customers got their products for Christmas even if it meant we didn't earn anything from those sales it was Worth it.Avon Lady since 2009 - I help on the Avon hints & tips thread to help other reps/new sales leaders as I was helped so much by it when I first started out :A0

If anyone has customers who aren't sure how to use the new always on point eyeliner, this page seems really useful, and even has a little video. Me & one of my customers couldn't work out how to use it properly but this has cleared things up!

Hi Girls, I'm new to Avon, started C10 on my street with £180 orders (worked my books so hard!) and hoping to keep to that or thereabouts whilst I canvas locally properly. I only found this thread a couple of days ago and it has been a godsend as I've been pretty much left to get on with it. I had a couple of questions which I wondered if anyone can help with?
1. I wasn't sure the best way to sign up so ended up calling an ASM via a gumtree and turns out she's based in England when I'm in Scotland! She sent a slightly closer SL to sign me up (also from England). So I won't be seeing or hearing too much from them. I didn't know about the 14 day cooling off as I do now. Trouble is that I'm not sure if I have been allocated territory (I haven't been told about it) so if someone gets allocated it by a closer ASM can they take it from me? I've canvassed 2 streets so far and most have reported a rep a long time ago who let them down but there appears to be a couple of good customers who she has hung onto (fair enough, I won't give them a book as she may just do them as F&F)
2. Can I change ASM to be with a more local ASM who at least knows the area? And someone who I can perhaps work with (or do SL and reps not tend to work together that well where customers are concerned?)
3. Is there a way of checking what streets are free and officially being assigned to them?
Anyhow will just keep plodding along with what I'm doing, there are lots of flats where I am and I'm guessing the last rep never bothered (as I was told to avoid flats) but actually is going quite well!
Thanks in advance for any helpxx

Welcome, highland.grace  MC should be along sometime soon and she will hopefully be able to answer your questions.
How's everyone doing? Just been out delivering on my rounds tonight. Warmer weather means it takes longer to get round as everyone wants to stop for a chat. Am remembering to make notes on who is away on their hols at the mo. I have a fortnight in August which means I put in the order a few days early, a family member has to take delivery and I deliver out a week later. Will detail it for my customers on my newsletter. Please do not quote spam as this enables it to 'live on' once the spam post is removed.

Once you've placed an order it is very difficult to change who you joined with with - the only really way is to leave for I think its 8 campaigns, and then re-sign with someone else - so for most people it isn't worth waiting so long.
2. Can I change ASM to be with a more local ASM who at least knows the area? And someone who I can perhaps work with (or do SL and reps not tend to work together that well where customers are concerned?)
See above for changing, but to be honest no, not many asms or sl for that matter will tend to pass on customers details, only if they get someone contact them for a brochure who is too far away from themselves, so generally speaking you wouldn't be likely to get many customer details passed to you no matter who you joined with.
3. Is there a way of checking what streets are free and officially being assigned to them?
you can't, and no other sl can, but the person you who signed you up (which I suspect is a sales leader, as asm cover a set area, and although it's rare for them to be very local to the area they cover, they don't tend too be that far away) can do, and if it is indeed a sl who signed you up, then the asm for your area can also do this. Once you have submitted your first order, only the asm can allocate territory to your account (either you, or your sl can request them to do this for you). It is well worth chasing them up about it, if you never asked them for streets, they may have just assumed that you are showing brochures to just friends/family. If the streets you cover end up being allocated to someone else at later date, it will cause all sorts of bother for you, the new rep, but also any customers you have in those areas.
Anyhow will just keep plodding along with what I'm doing, there are lots of flats where I am and I'm guessing the last rep never bothered (as I was told to avoid flats) but actually is going quite well!

See above, hopefully that will help a bit, it's been a while since I Have been an "active" sl, but I don't think that much has changed. If you need to find out who your asm is, if you pm me your postcode I can look up their details for you and give you their email address so that you can contact them direct about getting streets allocated to youAvon Lady since 2009 - I help on the Avon hints & tips thread to help other reps/new sales leaders as I was helped so much by it when I first started out :A0 -
Thanks for the welcome MM!
Am really enjoying Avon so far and trying not to spend any profits I make on stuff for myself
Putting lots of effort in canvassing so really hope it pays off in the run up to Christmas.
Lozza, you are a star, thank you SOOO much for your help. You are right, I think I'll just stick it out with my SL / ASM. In fairness, I contacted them both today to find out about territory so hopefully it will get resolved easily enough. They did know I was doing streets when they signed me up but my SL was new so maybe she wasn't sure what to do.
I have my fingers and toes crossed no one has claimed it as there own, I know lots of my neighbours so I guess I could just do F&F but not sure there's much scope for progressing that way.
Thanks again for your help ladies xxx0 -
No problem hope you get it sorted, with you getting so many customers from the streets you've done even if it is allocated to someone currently they obviously aren't covering it properly so I'd argue that it should become yours anyway, and if an old rep still has a couple of customers there they could still deliver to them as f&f so it would work for both of youAvon Lady since 2009 - I help on the Avon hints & tips thread to help other reps/new sales leaders as I was helped so much by it when I first started out :A0

Hi guys I am hoping to start selling Avon tomorrow. I applied online Sunday and a lady called me Monday to make an appointment to come and see me tomorrow evening. What actually happens when she comes here? Is it like an interview or do I have to pass any tests to become a rep or is she just coming to talk me through it all and get me started? If she does sign me up what campaign number would I be starting on please?0

Thanks again lozza, yeah I hope so too! And then I think I might have to keep pushing to add streets quickly so they don't get recanvassed and reclaimed by someone else....
Clare, I'm new too but thought I could at the least explain what happened with me since other people have helped me out
The Sales Leader gave me 20 current and 20 future campaign books (10 and 11) talked my through the ordering online system, processed the admin side of things (credit report, name, address, contact no's etc) and also told me about the smart start scheme. This basically means if you hit £150 for your first 6 orders you get extra freebies for you and samples to help get you new customers.
It was very much an informal chat with the sole purpose of getting you up and running. If you are like me you will probably say goodbye to them feeling quite excited and want to get going!
A couple of things I would say for starting out:
1. definitely recommend buying some plastic bags from the poundshop for your books till you can order proper avon ones with your first order otherwise mine would have got wrecked.
2. Find out your POB link (personal online brochure) and whack it on FB to tell your friends.
3. Don't forget to order your brochures each time!
4. Order 2 sets of order forms each time, these are free but I've gone through a lot, they are quite flimsy plus the info needs changed.
Hope that helps a wee bit. I should think they will start you on campaign 12 as our campaign 11 order goes in on Monday so you'd only have 4 days which is hardly worth it.

Wow thank you for all that info, some good tips just a little worried about the credit check now as that's not that great at the mohighland.grace wrote: »Thanks again lozza, yeah I hope so too!
