Doing about the same as usual for this time of the year thankfully.

Found out why there is another rep on husbands territory - the asm removed those streets from his account and re-allocated them, without telling him or me (his sl). Needless to say we're very annoyed - and have made it clear that regardless we will still cover those streets. her reply is sorry, I removed them by accident. Erm no, it's not that easy to remove territory, you knew what you were doing love. I'm guessing she saw that we live a few miles away from those streets, but we were allocated those streets for a reason, its on the way to both our work places, and his gran lives there. They're actually crap streets, we only have a few customers there, so I'm hoping that if nothing else, this other rep will choose to hand the streets back as they won't be worth them covering. Feel bad for this other rep, but not our fault that this new asm seems to like doing her own thing. She'll soon learn that I'm not someone to mess around :D

If the area manager or your sales leader ever asks you for your customer list - never give the house numbers, just say on x road I have x amount of customers. That will be fine :)

Well she asked before Christmas for a customer list and I was a bit dubious, my daughter is part of her group or something(I'm too old to understand facebook!!) and she noticed she had asked someone else the same thing so she could go canvassing to see did any of them want to become reps.

So I asked her this the other day and her reply was that any of my customers could sign up to Avon at any time either stopped in the street etc.
I am aware of that but its a bit different when someone knocks on your door.
Also f I was an Avon customer I don't think I would be too keen on my details being passed on to someone else.
So to answer the question she only got the number of houses on each street, needless to say I haven't had a reply yet!

She also said that if Avon don't think I'm achieving what I should be then she will help me to increase my sales. To be honest I'm happy with the way it's going and I'm not about to force anyone into ordering extra.

I think I might go the whole hog and keep asking for more territory, she gets a percentage of everything I sell anyway.

The lack of communication from Avon is very disappointing. I have only done 4 or 5 campaigns and have no follow up from my sign up contact. I was struggling with the territory and asked to swap a street. She eventually did swap it for one with over 70 addresses!! WHen I asked for some help with more brochures, no reply!!! I have texted and emailed both ladies expressing my disappointment and I would have thought they would want to help their reps as we make money for them too!!!!

Yes unfortunately as you've found who you join with can make a huge difference. Best way to cover a new street is to use your previous campaigns brochures, then you haven't got to buy anymore, might take a few campaigns to get round all the houses but you'll do it in time :)

Exactly, it's completely different to have someone know where the people who like Avon are and knock on their doors. ASMs targeting customers like this is shocking. Taking earnings away from their existing reps. So did she admit to this on the Facebook group? Why would anyone go on to give her the details once she's said that (although you should always be cynical and keep them to yourself anyway ;) ). As Lozza says, there's no reason for them to know anything other than the total number of customers per street.

Some ASMs take Avon's expected sales rate too seriously. There must be only a teeny-tiny % of reps who get the customer rate and sales expected so if all ASMs went off Avon's expectations nearly all reps would be having their territory removed or never allowed to expand. I'm in Bronze PC, got in by a couple of thousand last year, and think I'm number 3 in the area - and no, I don't reach Avon's expectations for sales or customer rate.
I used to have my Avon turnover (sales) here. They've been removed because it's not appropriate to talk about those kinds of sales as if they're realistic for a new Rep to aim for. :( I signed up at the right time, right place, and was very lucky.

Just quote Data Protection if she asks again. I don't think you can legally pass on customer details? Seems a bit dodgy.

Hello to all. Not been on here much, as doing very little with Avon. Hoping POB will take off, as without book costs, it's much more viable :)
Still looking for the plot...... Anyone seen it???

Yeah my daughter saw her explaining to another avon rep via her facebook page that she was going to canvass her customers to see if they wanted to become reps.
Now I think of it when I first started doing Avon she gave me a black and white copy with customer list typed at the top and told me if I had 20 names and addresses on it when she came the next time I would get a gift!! When she did come I had the list with over 20 names but I think I kept hold of the list and I think she gave my daughter a watch. I must check if its in my bag!!

Yeah expected sales could potentially happen - but at the end of the day, all the avon customers on a street might not order from the rep who covers their street - they could order from family, work, friend of a friend etc, so the figured are usually taken with a pinch of salt, it's only really if you're massively short that close attention is paid - say you have 500 houses to cover, only ever order 5 books and place orders for £50, something isn't right there - so long as your sales are reasonable there's nothing to worry about :)

But yes, very cheeky to ask for specific details of customers. As sl we usually get told to get a customer list from reps - but - only to use it when that rep finishes so that we explain they've stopped & then see if any want to take that round on. Certainly wouldn't try to purposely recruit my reps customers, might get you a new rep but the existing rep will probably leave due to lower sales & the way they've been treated!

Well I haven't had a reply from her yet I asked her on Friday do you think I am being impatient?

Could I just confirm: is the person asking for customer details your upline SL or an ASM?

If it's your SL you can go above them to the ASM to get new territory sorted (and also to mention this dubious tactic of your SL).
