Asms particularly only work week days, and should reply within 48 working hours. Sl - we do what we want, but most tend to work to same rules so perhaps later today email again if you haven't had a reply.Avon Lady since 2009 - I help on the Avon hints & tips thread to help other reps/new sales leaders as I was helped so much by it when I first started out :A0 -
Could I just confirm: is the person asking for customer details your upline SL or an ASM?
If it's your SL you can go above them to the ASM to get new territory sorted (and also to mention this dubious tactic of your SL).
She is my sales leader. I sent her a text this afternoon and she said she would chase it up but haven't heard anything yet.
I'm collecting half of my books tomorrow so thought ideally I could redeliver them down the new road in time or C5.0 -
There's no way I'd hand over any details of my customers to a SL. We are independent avon representatives and these people are our customers. Each one of my customers has been earned one way or the other and most I regard as personal friends. Fortunately I have a good ASM (no idea who my SL is) who does not interfere with customers. Please do not quote spam as this enables it to 'live on' once the spam post is removed.

Well I was already  over the idea of anyone saying you have to give over customer details in return for extra streets so they can poach those customers, but now it appears your SL doesn't have a clue what their role actually is! They're in no position to decide whether or not you can have extra streets or to decide whether your sales are 'good enough' to get the extra streets or not.
That said, it's a relief they're just your SL. I'd ask one of the SLs on here (Lozza and MarsdenCuckoo are SLs) to help you find out the contact details of your ASM. Bypass your SL completely.
I'd also be tempted to tell the ASM about your SL's tactics. It comes across as bullying/coercion to say you must hand over customer contact details to get extra streets (that they can't give you anyway), not to mention how rude it is to take customers from your own team of reps. SLs are supposed to support their teams and I can't see Avon approving of tactics like this. SLs may be self-employed but someone from Avon could have a word with them if they agreed with us that this tactic isn't an acceptable thing to do.
After this I also wouldn't want to have any contact with this SL. Your ASM can deal with the important things: territory and any issues with that. There's this forum and Connects if you have questions as well.
Things like this just go to show how twisted the idea of SL-ship has become. All about recruitment to some people, without appreciating their existing team.I used to have my Avon turnover (sales) here. They've been removed because it's not appropriate to talk about those kinds of sales as if they're realistic for a new Rep to aim for.I signed up at the right time, right place, and was very lucky.

I'd never ask for details of one of my reps customers unless they were giving up and passing on their list to the new rep! That's absolutely appalling!
On a side note I've had a truly awful week at work, been prospecting, door knocking and online recruiting and it has been pants - I spoke to 200 people yesterday (give or take - I kept a rough count after the first hour, I was out from 10-4! Longest I have ever worked!) and not appointed a single new rep! How can I expect to aim for exec?
Sorry needed to rant!Avon Sales Leader in North Kent Since July 20110 -
I'm having a pants time as well. Since Xmas I have lost about 5 customers which now means I have less than 50 books to put out to about 300 houses (and that includes friends & family!) . A lot of houses round here are student houses and there are a large number which are empty and have been for months. I'm really loosing heart now, and looking into the practicalities of another job.
I earned £90 on C4, less expenses and its just not paying the way I had hoped. £90 is just short of a weeks part-time work on minimum wage so for 3 weeks work its very disheartening
Creeping back in for accountability after falling off the wagon in 2016.Need to get back to old style in modern ways, watching the pennies and getting stuff done!0 -
I've had a reply from her(can I just add at this point that I think she is my SL,she is the person that signed me up. Is ASM area sales manager?)
Her reply said that Avon have said I have been allocated 284 houses and I'm only working with 25 books so I text her back saying I run two (C4&C5) at the same time which is what she told me to do(and took me quite a while to get my head round it!!) so I am actually working with 50 books. Her reply was I'll get back to you.
I don't really see what difference it makes how many books I'm using,if I only used 10 books and went out delivering every day of every week (which I don't) surely that would be my business.
I'm starting to regret asking for the road in the first place,it's only about 10 houses but as I've said before it completes a route for me, I walk down the road anyway to get to my next street!!0 -
Hi All, I haven't been on for ages, thought the thread has been quiet, but it looks like my email alerts for activity on this thread haven't been working.
I've started sales leadership about two weeks and I think I have qualified inside 1 campaign, so I am happy :-0 Hopefully I will be a good sales leader, learning from the crapiness of mine. Luckily my Area Sales Manager is fab.Avon Rep since 30 November 2012.
Sales to date: 2012 C1 £605... C2 £186... C3 £407.740 -

ASMs can sign you up as well. Usually if you apply through the official Avon website (not a SL's website) you're signed up by an ASM.
It should say in the signature of any emails they're sending you. Oh and their email will be @avon.com if they're an ASM. @avon.com is only given to Avon employees so SL email addresses never end like that.I used to have my Avon turnover (sales) here. I have checked my emails and she must be my SL as I also get emails from the ASM.
My SL is also the mother of one of my daughters school friends so I don't really want to go over her head IYKWIM, but I still haven't had a reply! I am collecting my books back tomorrow and wanted to redeliver them straight away but at this rate I will be too late. I can not understand their problem I want too sell MORE Avon how can that be a bad thing for anyone.
I cannot imagine why it is taking this long to reply, about 5 months ago we asked could we have an extra road and just got a reply yes almost straight away, very odd this time.0
