HMRC are very clued up re. what you can claim for so it's wrong to think that by contacting them you will automatically pay more tax; much better to be above board and honest in my book. Sometimes you try and register and they tell you that you don't need to anyway..... everyone's case is different.

Very true. I've been registered for quite a few years now as i used to do mystery shopping & Phoenix cards previously. After submitting 1 tax return, they sent me a letter saying I didn't need to submit any more :rotfl:

Was a bit hurt at the time, felt like they were trivialising my income ;)
    Now proud Mumto3 :j
  • I have been contacted via avon because they wanted to know why nearly every camp i am sending back ££££ of goods. So this customer is causing problems all around.

Really? First time I've ever heard of that. Or was it your upliner (who'll be losing out on her SL commission)? If the latter, don't worry about it; it's your Avon business and totally up to you how you see fit to run your account provided it's within Avon's T&Cs.

Ah, bless. Don't worry about it, I've been told twice by HMRC not to bother! :rotfl:

  • Hi, hoping someone can help. Im trying to find an item that I need to return on the avon website, I have searched but it isn't coming up. I think it might have been a replacement (as the customer wrote the wrong number down when originally ordering) Can replacements be returned? Thanks in advance! :)

Have you searched by description rather than item no?

Got to admit, I've never had to return a replacement so really don't know. If your replacement is for a different item, have you tried searching for the original one?

And whoever's making the call, they really shouldn't be making you feel uncomfortable about returning things. I mean, Avon has the option "surplus stock, could not sell" and I bet people who do regular car boots have a fair amount to send back.

One of the great things about Avon is if you want to buy in stock you can, and with no risk.

I'd hate to think of reps feeling uncomfortable about returns to the point where they don't and suck up the cost themselves.

I've done a big return once (nearly £200), and usually have £20-odd (my cost) in credits per campaign. That's either returning stuff I've tried out myself (not just for the sake of trying, but looking for the right product, which I nearly always find), or returning surplus stock. Never had a call from Avon HO.
I used to have my Avon turnover (sales) here. They've been removed because it's not appropriate to talk about those kinds of sales as if they're realistic for a new Rep to aim for. :( I signed up at the right time, right place, and was very lucky.

I'd imagine that once you've claimed for a replacement the item disappears from the list so you can't claim it again. It probably needs a phone call to get this one credited.

Avon are checking up on large returns, they expect everyone to return a certain % and if it's higher they look Into it. There reasoning, apparently, is because we aren't meant to keep a large stock in. That and it helps check up on people who are just using things then returning them, and hardly ever paying for items. If they're genuine returns don't worry x

The original item that was replaced is there (online), but not the item we replaced it for. The original item is totally different because the number she wrote down was wrong. Maybe I'll have to email again, they'll be contacting me soon as well, asking me to stop emailing so much!!;):rotfl:
