There should be a date underneath the product too. Not totally sure but, as PM says, it's probably the date it was manufactured or even packaged?Make the most of everything in life (especially Avon)

Good list I,Geek!
I just do friends and family so yes it does take a lot less time but of course earnings are less too as most campaigns I just make the lower minimum order.
I only have 15 books so only takes me about 15 minutes to prep them and because we are friends/family deliveries take a while as they all ask me in for a cup of tea and a chat!
The longer you're a rep, the more your customers become friends anyway so my rounds also take me ages!!Make the most of everything in life (especially Avon)

I have a 2 year old daughter but I don't have anyone to look after her apart from my husband could probably have her for a couple of hours in a morning for a couple of days a week so I'm trying to work out if I'd have enough time to be an avon rep.
Everyone's got enough time to be an Avon rep! :rotfl:The knack is to make Avon fit in with your life, not the other way round.
One lady on my team has two part-time cleaning jobs (takes her books to both) and then just keeps a book on her when she goes out to the pub with her OH. Whilst the guys are playing darts, skittles, talking/watching footie the ladies enjoy 'shopping'. She used to have just 5 books, now uses 10 but always does £150/200 worth of orders every campaign.:T
In your case, presumably you go to a toddler/playgroup? If so, you could just let your friends know that you are (thinking of being) an Avon rep; offer a free gift with 'first orders £10+' or even offer the organisers 10% discount for club funds if they're happy to help you get some orders in.
If you're on Face Book, you can put a virtual book on there; we also now have Personal Online Brochures - just email a brochure to your friends, they add items to their shopping basket and that comes straight through to your website. Easy, peasy!
Don't think too hard about it, just do it! You may not earn a huge amount but it will have a positive effect on your household budget because you can click into discounted/clearance goods for your own use/gifts etc.
Good luck!Make the most of everything in life (especially Avon)

Is it possible by any chance to change sales leaders/area managers? My area manager is awful on communication, she's replied to one email since I joined in February, despite me asking questions about poachers on my area. My sales leader was really good at the beginning, but now it's been a couple of months since I heard from her last.
I contacted Avon customer care to say about my area manager and how she hadn't been in touch, they replied to say they had emailed her and she should be in touch with me soon - that was about a month ago and she hasn't been in touch with me yet.
What to do, please?
Under extreme circumstances Avon may switch you to another team but your Area Manager is 'fixed', depending on where you live.
You can complain about your ASM to your DSM/Divisional Sales Manager but to be honest, you may get the reaction that 'poaching' is better dealt with by your upliner - sometimes it's just a misunderstanding e.g. people see that a certain road forms part of their territory but fail to realise that it may not be the entire street. It's common for one rep to cover the even nos. on a street and a different rep to cover the odd nos! Of course, that is further complicated by the F&F/territory way of working too.
Just a thought, instead of going into detail about your problems, could be worth just asking for confirmation about your actual territory? Keep it simple to 'open the channels' and then when you have confirmation you can take it from there i.e. if one of your streets has been littered with books from another rep. Be aware though that if your orders have fallen below Avon's assessment of what is possible re. your territory, your ASM may have removed some of your territory and given it to someone else.....
Hope that helps. Good luck!Make the most of everything in life (especially Avon)

I also have a friend who lives at the opposite end of the country to me who is interested in doing Avon. Would I be able to recommend her aswell or again would I have to pass her onto my upliner?
There's no obligation at all to pass any leads onto your upliner (unless you want to, of course). Not sure what you mean by 'recommend' her? When people apply direct to Avon the enquiry goes to their Area Manager, who may sign that person up themselves or pass the lead onto one of their Sales Leaders.
On the other hand.... why not go into Sales Leadership yourself and sign both of these two friends up to your own team? :jMake the most of everything in life (especially Avon)

miss_angel_star wrote: »Please could somebody explain the different 'types' of avon reps?
I know what a family and friends rep is (my step-daughter has got our family covered lol but I could try to sell to a few friends) and I know territory reps are assigned a territory to canvas but I've also heard the terms personal rep and trendsetter rep - what do these reps do? Are there any others?
Also, what is the presidents club? (Not sure if I've got the term right there but I'm sure you'll know what I mean!) What are the benefits and what do you have to do to join? Are there any other 'clubs' to aim to gain membership of?
Just to add to what's already been posted, a Personal Rep is someone, who just clicks into discounted products for their own use.
* All reps can order from Hello Tomorrow, where goods are already discounted by approx. 30% (+ clearance with even bigger discounts).
* Orders £10+ are delivered free
* No need to order every campaign
* Some people are happy to pay the £15 set-up fee themselves to click into the privilege of being a Personal Rep but 'the knack' (there's always one...) is to get £78+ worth of orders in your first campaign, which results in £15.60 worth of discount so 'voila' :j it becomes self-funding!
Reeeeaaally don't know why everyone's not an Avon rep! :rotfl:

I spoke to my upliner about becoming a sales leader and was undecided as to whether to have a go but in the end decided I wasn't ready yet. So she has signed my daughters friend up herself.
She did however give another street so we will be busy again this campaign:j:j0
