hi
i have just joined avon and have had my first meeting.
I have been given 20 books of c12 and 20 books of c11(my back campaign). I have a territory of 140 homes.
What would you guys suggest would be the best way to canvass these homes..
1. Knock and ask
2. Post books and ask for them back in a couple days and keep doing this
3. Put notes through asking if they want books?
or any other suggestions?.
Thankyou
I had a bit of a good start as I moved to a brand new estate and took this on as "my patch" as well as a neighbouring estate which had also just been built...
I posted books, I didn't put notes in or anything, just an order form with my details and when the delivery was also when I was collecting book, I give them out and left them for a week... I made a record in my calling book of where I had left them...
I knocked on doors on collection day and smiled, introduced myself and asked for the book, asked whether they'd like me to continue delivering them... Again I recorded outcomes in my calling book.
I also take books to work as I work in a large office, initially close friends at work started ordering and then word spread, I have about 10 regular customers at work now... including men, whom take books home for their partners...
I also drop a book in at my local betting shop, I asked if anyone left one there first and would always advise doing this so as not to annoy anyone who may already leave books....
There are lots of places you could leave them as follows:
Sun Bed/Tanning Shops
Bakeries
Hair Dressers
Doctors Surgeries
Post Offices
Local Offices
Community Centres
Local factories - just ask at reception
Petrol Garages
(These are easy places to reach more than one person, lots of staff rotation)
The general rule to success with Avon is simple - be reliable, friendly and honest, customers lead to customers.
If you have a facebook account don't forget to promote on there, lots of people you can get to without leaving the house, you can give them the online brochure this way or maybe they'll prefer the book, either way I reckon you could pick up some extra customers this way....
Good luck with you're new venture, it can work so long as you do.... xx0 -

hi again,
Thankyou for all your replies, i think i am going to stuff and run, and then reassess after i collect back in.
I have another question, after doing some research on avon and picking up loads of tips.
If i give a customer a C12 brochure, with my own printed off leaflet saying buy X product and get a free gift. The product in question is half the price in c11, therefore i am thinking that the customer pays me £7, i order the £3.50 one = £3.50 profit to me, which i will purchase a £1ish gift to give as the freebie.
Is this kind of thing allowed?
ThankyouStarted Comping 04/03/12

Each to their own.... good luck!
As for your query, yes, that's what we call Creative Ordering. Your maths is a bit wonky as those are customer prices and you will be charged the discounted rates, i.e. assuming you hit MOV/HOV+
Have fun with CO but when you are first trying to establish a loyal customer base it's sometimes worth letting your customer know you can get them a better deal than they have actually ordered. Totally up to you, it's your business but my 'lot' now generally know that whatever they order is the 'worst case scenario'. Don't always do it, of course.... well a girl's gotta live, eh? :rotfl:
JJ: Have PMd you.
LHT3: Welcome aboard; sounds like Avon should fit perfectly into your life. Ask whoever signs you up for some tips and then pass them onto us! :T Will give you a good idea of how switched on they are....One tip re. tomorrow, all new reps have a 14 day cooling off period so if you're not happy with your upliner for any reason don't feel you are obliged to sign up/stay with them.

Thankyou,
I understand that its creative ordering and the price difference, i was really just wondering if its ok to advertise these kind of 'deals' or is that frowned upon?

Sorry, I misunderstood. Yes, totally up to you what you want to offer your customers a free gift for. Provided you adhere to Avon's T&Cs you can run your own Avon business how you like.Make the most of everything in life (especially Avon

Hi, just putting in my order ready for tomorrow, but I want to order my boys a spiderman swim bag each from the clearance in the HT. But when I go to view the order sub-total, it only shows one swim bag added on the order. Is this likely to be a glitch and will I get the two bags or will I end up with one bag and loads of arguments lol!
The bag will just get sent back if only one arrives though as I am not having any fighting over it.
Are you only allowed 1 of each clearance item?
ThanksBSC #215/No.1 Jan 09 Club0 -
Clearance you can order as many as you like - you can only order from your current HT though..... Well, having said that, you can order from your back HT but you won't get it! (Took me 6 months to realise that because no-one told me! :rotfl:)Make the most of everything in life (especially Avon
